inexpensive hotels for OOT guests
We're thinking of blocking rooms at a few hotels..maybe the Wingate will be one but I would also like something less expensive to provide our guests with a price option. Can anyone recommend something less expensive but not crappy? We're getting married at the Westbury Manor, btw!tia

Hi Leah...I did some shopping around and didn't really find anything less $$ than the Wingate. If you do, let me know LOL!

I know this is too far coming from the Westbury Manor, but for everyone out on the east end.....the Courtyard by Marriott in Ronkonkoma gave me a great deal! $109 a night w/ breakfast for everyone the next morning! Couldn't beat that at all!

I got $119 a night in Syosset (Fairfield Marriott) and Woodbury (Best Western and Executive Inn). Both included breakfast.Probably too far, though.

I've done alot of research also, we decided to block at the Wingate. The thing that irked me about the red roof inn is that the price they quoted us was based on a Single occupancy! So you have to pay extra to have 1 more person in the room! That blew me away. My FI asked 'Well what if it is a room with 2 double beds-why do you have 2 beds?' The sales person told him 'The other bed is for the person to enjoy' uuhhh ok

The Wingate seems great from the little bit of experience I've had with them! Red Roof is good but I heard you can't block...I don't know where else would be good! Just putting down my Wingate vote!

Re: inexpensive hotels for OOT guests
thanks everyone. I think we may go with the Red Roof Inn as the less $$ option..even if we can't block rooms we can provide info for it right? I feel like I've been to weddings where they did that. I looked at the room prices online before and the charge for an extra person is like $10/room..still less than the other hotels, tho.Welcome New Vendors
