Are u marching in to here comes the bride?
How many have a song they rather walk in to.I think my wedding party will march in to Stevie Wonder. But I will march in to Here comes the bride.

I'm not using Here Comes The Bride. I'm trying to stay away from the typical stuff. I'm using a different song from my walk down the aisle, but keeping it a secret.

I think so. I can't get past my visions of my wedding since childhood. I always pictured walking down the aisle to Here Comes the Bride. The little girl in me just want's to fullfill her dream

I'm not really into tradition, but I'll be doing here comes the bride.

I think I am coming into what ever the church allows. It is a organ player, so I am pretty sure its 'Here comes the Bride'.

No. It is rarely heard at Jewish weddings.

I think I am. Sometimes I like traditional things like that. I think we're walking in to Stevie Wonder, too, at the reception. I LOVE Stevie! 'Do, I Do!'

That's why we did it. We originally were going to do untraditional for the entire ceremony, but it just didn't seem right to us. There's nothing like hearing the first few notes and seeing everyone rise...it's awesome.

Re: Are u marching in to here comes the bride?
My BP will march to Pachelbel's Canon in D, but I was thinking of coming in to One Hand, One Heart. It's the theme song from A West Side Story. FH knows it my favorite movie of all time so it would be fitting and the original lyrics are beautiful. I have a string trio doing the ceremony music so it should sound great!

Re: Are u marching in to here comes the bride?
i really don't want too..i am sort of the anit-birde
well, u know what i mean, i think it may be too much for my personality. at precana they told us we have to have the church approve any music that we want to use in the ceremony and it has to be.. not sure how they said it but churchy??not modern rock etc.. they gave us a cd with the songs available for the ceremony so fh and i are going to look through it and see if there is something less dramatic..then the traditional march.by the way..i do love the march, it gives me chills when i am at weddings to hear it..it is also pretty emotional, i just don't think it is my speed.

that'd probably because it comes from an opera where a brother and sister get married and that's her wedding march!

Actually I heard that it was from the musician that Hitler loved. A lot of people frown upon that, especially Jewish people. Not sure if this is an accurate fact though.

You are right. Wagner wrote the Wedding March and it is known in some circles that Wagner was one of Hitler's favorite composers and thus many Jewish weddings will not have the Wedding March as processional music. Older people with closer ties or people with sensitivities to the Holocaust would find it rather offensive to hear and thus I would not have it played at my own wedding. I am well read on that part of world history and it is a reminder of something I wish I could erase. However, I certainly would not begrudge someone the opportunity to use it for themselves nor would I pass judgement.

I'm not a big fan of that song at all! I think I'll be walking down to scarbro faires. And if my FH doesn't come up with a better song, that is what using. He has 10 months, to find another one. Knowing his procrastion, I'll be huming Scarbro faire as I walk down the aisle.Welcome New Vendors
