How would you rate your dress shopping experience??

Personally I thought mine was pretty good. My mom and I went to a few stores and I found it in February..but waited until August to order it. It wasn't as painful as I thought it would be..shopping for my prom dress was worse

Re: How would you rate your dress shopping experience??

Mine was quite different. I did have a designer designed my gown from scratch which I was highly involved in from everything down to what the bustle should be like and it was a beautiful experience for me.

Re: How would you rate your dress shopping experience??

INCREDIBLE.

I went to Bridal Reflections in Carle Place. I worked with Maddie. She knew I did NOT want a princessy or ballgowny type of dress based on my age and thoughts. She also knew I had a tattoo to cover and dug deep into the closets to find me what I wanted. AMAZING JOB. Christina the manager called the designer and was able to have them give me the trunk show price so we could afford it. Couldnt be happier. I get to see it in two weeks!

Re: How would you rate your dress shopping experience??

The first store I went to almost left me in tears, the woman made me feel like because I was not a size 6 I would make an ugly bride, and did not deserve the dress of my dreams. My next stop, the Fantasia bridal center, was amazing! The women there were so helpful, I could not have asked for anything more than what they did for me. Everything worked out so well, and they were so kind, that we actually invited them to the ceremony!

Re: How would you rate your dress shopping experience??

My entire dress shopping experience (including the BM dresses) has been mixed.

The place where I got my gown I would not recommend to my worst enemy. No one should have to deal with the crap I have dealt with from the day I first tried on the dress and ordered it until now that it's finally in. Thankfully I will be done with them at the end of the month when I pay off my gown and go elsewhere for alterations.

I went to a lot of other places that were on Long Island that treated me a lot better, notably, Bridal Suite of Bayshore, Estelle's and Bridal Suite of Centereach, however, I checked these places out last.

The place I got my BM dresses was insane at first, only one woman knew what she was doing, so now I am dealing directly with the owner as a result, so it's a much better experience.

OMG! This happened to me too at my first store. Luckily, as I left the place I happened to pass another one and they could take me right away. They were awesome and made me feel better about myself. After that, I went to a bunch of places that were more than helpful. Funny thing is..... the first place ended up closing down.

Re: How would you rate your dress shopping experience??

Wow I just went to my First Look see for a Wedding Dress. The store is two blocks from my house. I think i found 'THE ONE' also. But I'am still going to look more. I thought i was the only one who found her dress the first time. I'll post my !st choice but I'm still going to continue looking. Does the salesgirl have to see u in your underwear. I'm a little shy.

Even thought I didn't order my gown at Fantasias, they have the best customer service. I did most of my dress shopping there. They are the only bridal salon where I acutally liked the people working there. My mom kept complaining that the place was to far, and I found my dress at another salon and just ordered it.

Re: How would you rate your dress shopping experience??

My experience was better than I thought it would be. I went with my mom. Thought I found 'the dress' at the first store, but when we went to the next store I found 'THE ONE.' Funny thing is it was acually the dress I had ripped out of a magazine and I didn't even realize it until I was taking the dress off and saw the tag!

Re: How would you rate your dress shopping experience??

Mine was surprisingly easy. Believe it or not I had my dress picked out b4 I even went shopping, then it was the 2nd dress I tried on & I loved it, yet wanted to be sure. I went to 3 different stores & loved 2 out of 3 stores.

It was harder for me deciding on a bm dress

Re: How would you rate your dress shopping experience??

Overall I'd say it was fun. I went to 3 places, 2 of which I really liked the people I worked with. The only bad part was I fell in love with my dress but was at odds with the bridal salon because they wouldn't tell me who made it. I spent the next month searching everywhere, then went somewhere and described the dress. The saleswoman guessed it and showed it to me in a book but I was afraid to order from a book in case it wasn't exactly the same. So after looking at many dresses, I go back to the first place and try the dress on again, loved it and decided to order. Well, guess what, the woman in the other bridal salon was right, it was that exact dress!

Re: How would you rate your dress shopping experience??

FUN. I was just saying on another post, I almost wish I didn't find my dress so fast b/c I want to keep shopping! I'm a plus size bride too, so I was really dreading it, but I felt beautiful in many of the gowns I tried on.

Conigs25 and I are still thinking about going and pretending we are 07 Brides who haven;t found gowns yet!
