Yes!! That's where I plan to go on my honeymoon. My father went this past summer and brought back pictures --apparently it's amazing!

Re: Honeymoon - Italy - Amalfi Coast

oh wow... Amalfi Coast is absolutely gorgeous. I was only there for a couple of days, in Sorrento, but it was definitely the most relaxing and peaceful part of my trip. (we also went to Venice, Florence, and Rome in the same trip. We saw some really amazing things, but Sorrento was just so wonderful)
And if you're into that kind of thing I believe you can take day trips to Pompeii from there (the Roman city that was covered by a volcano).

I definitely recommend it!

Not 100% sure yet, but that's probably where we're headed. I've only been to the East Coast of Italy, can't wait to see the Amalfi Coast!

Re: Honeymoon - Italy - Amalfi Coast

my family is from that area and I've been several times.

Definite must-sees are Positano and Sorrento. Pompei is great for that historical aspect.

FM me for specific questions. FH and I are planning to go in May

Re: Honeymoon - Italy - Amalfi Coast

weddingbunny,

Did you take a tour that included all those cities? If not, how did you handle it?

My FI and I are thinking of Europe (Austria & Italy)...I have family in the area and the places are gorgeous in the Amalfi Coast.

Re: Honeymoon - Italy - Amalfi Coast

FH and I went there a year and a half ago. We stayed at this place in Positano and it was gorgeous! I highly recommend staying in Positano. It's very easy to walk around all the narrow streets (great shopping!) and very easy to get a ferry to Capri. FM me if you have any specific questions.

Re: Honeymoon - Italy - Amalfi Coast

I lived in Italy back in 2003 and the Amalfi coast is beautiful.
You will feel like you are in a movie. The people are so nice, the food is awesome and it just looks beautiful.

There were a lot of honeymooners there and they all looked so happy.

I went to school in Italy and spent some time there. Are you staying in Amalfi the whole time? Definitely check out Sorrento and Capri while your there.

We haven't made any plans or done that much research yet...but the plan would be to basically stay in one place for 2 weeks...if possible...maybe 2 places...I don't want to be unpacking and repacking too much. Day trips would totally be in the plan too.

Re: Honeymoon - Italy - Amalfi Coast

Hi -

We are going to the Amalfi Coast for our honeymoon in July - Dawn is an excellent travel agent. You can read my review for Dawn's Honeymoon specialists -- she is great to work with and she is well-versed in the area. We are going to spend a couple of days in Rome and then the remainder of the honeymoon on the coast! Good Luck and enjoy -

Stephanie
