Is anyone going to dance with their mom?
I want to dance with my mom to the song,'Because you loved me' by Celine Dion. I know my dad will have something to say about that also. My dad gets to walk me down, lift my veil and dance with me, why not recognize the mom in all of this too.

My sister is going to do that.I'm doing a special toast for my mom & dedicating that Celene Dion song to her.

I am!! My step-dad is getting to walk me down the aisle...but I want to dance with my Mom. It was just me and my Mom when I was growing up...so I want to honor her (plus she LOVES to dance
) I am thinking of having it be a surprise...I know we'll both be crying...we cry at kleenex comercials on t.v.

Thats what I want to do also, I will only let the dj know, not her. How should I do it without my dad complaining?

Re: Is anyone going to dance with their mom?
Why can't both your parents walk you down an aisle and they can take turns dancing with you at the recptions?

Both my parents are remarried, and my dad makes an issue of everything. He made a stink when my older sister had both my parents walk her down, and when my mom lifted her veil. He forgets my mom is important also. His wife and one of her daugthers made most of the comments instergating my dad to complain more.

Re: Is anyone going to dance with their mom?
I would love to dance with my mother because we just lost Dad this summer. I dont think she is ready yet and she prefers I dance with my brother. I hoped to dance with each of them but her level of comfort is very important.

HMMMM???? I have been sitting here thinking about your question for a few minutes...and what I keep coming up with is, it's your wedding. Maybe you could ask him to cut in half way through. That way it can be a surprise to your mom but your dad can still be involved. You could ask the dj to invite your dad up at the half way point of the song...or even a little after
HTH!!

Re: Is anyone going to dance with their mom?
I have been debating this.I was never close to my dad and he died two years ago.
I am having my mom walk me down the aisle.
I don't think she will feel comfortable for us to dance and have all those people stare at her.

Re: Is anyone going to dance with their mom?
I would loveto dance with my mom as well but I am dancing with my dad so I don't want to have all these spotlight dances so I think I am going to make a dedication and start dancing with my mom and then let everyone else dance a s well

I don't think I will be able to handle dancing with my mom. I will just make a very short but sweet speech and give her the mini Bo-k.
