I want to cry
I can't seem to find a perfect venue. My problem is that I have a small headcount (100-125 people).Any suggestions on venues outside of Long Island?
What other venues did you consider in Westchester, NJ, and CT???
I have a small headcount and want a beautiful outdoor ceremony with upscale reception.
Please help! I am starting to lose it.

Re: I want to cry
I had between 100 and 125 at Timber Point Country Club, one wedding at a time. At peak times the Saturday night minimum was higher.I first looked in CT and upstate NY, and had nearly decided on Troutbeck , where I had my senior prom (I went to school in CT), but then we opted for Long Island since it was easier to plan when we live where the reception is. I think you would love Troutbeck though--very upscale. Troutbeck is right over the CT border in Amenia, NY.

Re: I want to cry
I know you said outside of long island, but i know that the vineyard in bridgehampton does weddings w/max of 125 people. And its very pretty there. It's called... Wolffer Estate Vineyard. You should check them out. They'll send you a wedding packet if you request it.

If you are near a large newstand, there are several specific wedding magazines, i.e. New Jersey weddings. etc.

A second vote for Wolffer!!!!!
We were married at the gazebo in the vineyard and then had our reception on the patio and in the tasting room. It was WONDERFUL!

Re: I want to cry
I would definately go to look at The Snuff Mill at the NYBG in the Bronx( it is an Abigail Kirsch property). I was working with a small # (70ppl) and I loved that they were specifically set up for smaller weddings. The max there is 120ppl. I am a bit biased, but I truly think it is a unique and beautiful location.Plus, the food and service were both wonderful!!!

Re: I want to cry
Hi there. Don't get so upset. We only had to guarntee 100 at Giorgio's.I would also say the Old Field Club or one of the smaller rooms at the Three Village Inn.
Hope that helps

Re: I want to cry
You might want to look at 'castles' and mansions... they are very upscale, typically prefer outdoor/garden ceremonies and because they were once residences, usually lean toward the smaller 100 - 125 affairs...http://www.dupontcastle.com/castles/#ct
Check out this link - it lists these types of places by state -
I think you might do pretty well here.
Good Luck
OH - do a google search for Castles / CT... you will probably find more

Re: I want to cry
Oh my goodness, my very first choice to have my reception was at The Castle on the Hudson. Looove it there, but my party was too big, they hold up to 140 (I think). It is in Tarrytown , Westchester....only about 35 mins from the whitestone and throgs neck bridges.Welcome New Vendors
