Wedding gown shopping question...

I hate shopping as it is... And I can't stand the way I look in clothes to begin with so I was just wondering if there are dressing rooms at David's Bridal and Bridal Mart??? (Bridal Mart for the North Carolina brides) I don't want to try on dresses in front of everyone. I would be so uncomfortable. So, if anyone knows, let me know! Thanks!

Wedding gown shopping question...

Melissa...let me first start out by saying I know exactly how you feel. I hate the way I look in clothes and on top of it being a plus size, I was getting myself all worked up about looking for my wedding gown. I chose to go to Davids because I knew that I would at least be able to try on a gown, unlike a regular bridal store where all the dresses are in a size 10 or 12. There are individual dressing rooms at Davids ( at least the one in Carle Place there were). The only problem with Davids is that if you are looking for individual service, dont go there. You are basically on your own to find your own gowns. Good LUck! Lisa

Wedding gown shopping question...

I am also 'shy' about trying clothes on in 'public', as I am a plus size. But, let me tell you straight - during this whole dress-shopping-thing, get used to your body being exposed, in front of a lot of people. It's natural, and it's going to happen - you're going to need help putting on bras, girdles, shoes, and the dress, and it can't always be in private. I got over that worry pretty fast, I swear. It's really okay, because everyone's really looking at the dress, and not at your body underneath. I'm sure you'll look beautiful anyway... Enjoy, and good luck.
