What did your videographer capture that your photog. didn't?

I'm still debating whether or not to hire a videographer as opposed to just having a friend film the ceremony and maybe parts of the reception (if he wanted to). In seeing videographer samples, some of the films I've seen are gorgeous, but don't capture more to me than, say, a photojournist would. So, did any of you who used a videographer feel there were very valuable things captured on video that you could not get from your photos or memories?

Once family members pass, a video can leave w/ you so many more things that a photo cannot. As for what my video captured that the photographer did not, let's just say everything 'in-between'. I had an amazing photojournalist, but a video really brought to life not just us, but everything going on around us. Ultimately, only you can decide if it's right to have one, but I sugest asking to see an entire video and not just a sample.

I think in general the audio on a video of real time conversations and well wishes and the music can really take you back. I wouldn't trade it for the wolrd.
