Re: This will be my last Christmas at home
I'm with ya.
I keep looking around my house at the decorations and stuff. It makes me sad.
I'm so excited to be getting married but at the same time I'm also sad how things are going to change.

My last Christmas too
I will continue going home Christmas morning anyway. My sister still does and she is married 8 years with two kids. It is kind of a tradition. My mom really knows how to stuff a stocking.

Re: This will be my last Christmas at home
I don't understand, you can always go home to help mom set up the tree, and spend quality time. My FILs spend every holiday together. Its weird kinda, I still feel like a guest and not a memeber of the family yet. I haven't done Xmas the way you talk about in yrs, but that was my choose. But as long as you live near your family you can always be a part of the holdays with them. It would be extra special because its a visit from you, rather than you living there.

Re: This will be my last Christmas at home
Im right there with ya! I thought that it would be nice for myself and my 2 brothers to be home for Christmas one last time (they dont live home anymore but they always came home for Christmas morning). All three of us are engaged and this will be our last Christmas as a family. Unfortunately, neither brother will be able to make it home this year and I am SO sad about this!I'm not really good with change, so this is very hard for me. I hope I dont have a melt down on Christmas morning when it is just me and my mom and dad.

I can see why you may feel sad. Although I am not a person who celebrates Christmas. I remember seeing the transition from holidays at Mom and Dad's home to the homes of the kids and remembering how sad it was that mom wasn't capable of hosting things anymore. We developed new traditions. Moms and Dad's cant do it forever.

Re: This will be my last Christmas at home
It will be my last Christmas at home too, but I'm not sad. It's really too much work for my mom, so maybe the family can come to our place after we're married!

Oh my, I just realized this is my last Christmas at home too. How sad...
However, thinking about it I'll be very excited next year to buy a tree with my then DH and starting our own traditions!

Re: This will be my last Christmas at home
I have the same feelings too. It hit me this weekend when we were putting up the tree. I actually started to cry and my FH laughed at me. My mom told me that when we take the tree down, I can pick whatever ornaments I want. I am going to miss waking up on Christmas day with my mom and dad to open presents.

I was thinking about that too. It's bittersweet, isn't it?

Re: This will be my last Christmas at home
It is bittersweet, I agree. I missed my last T-day at home b/c my cousin and Grandfather needed me to visit them in Fl instead. It's their first year w/o grandma (tho she hadn't able to cook for the holidays in YEARS) and my poor cousin volunteered to live with g-pa and take care of him sacrificing his ability to find a wife!
I knew they needed me more than my family and FH...It's a good change and it'd be sad if you weren't moving forward with your life!!
It'll be OK!
