Jewish brides - what is a ladke party??

Hi girls,

I am going to FH's moms' friends ladke party on Sunday - what is it?? What can I wear?

How cool...and fattening!

A Latke party can be different things, but I've had one where I invite friends and family and we all make our specialty latkes and share. There's always a doggie bag for leftovers later.

This is part of a meal, but the fun is really around being together and making the latkes and tasting them together.

i found a weight watchers recipe for latkes on their website...

please don't remind me!! I grew up in Israel and my Aunt used RECYCLED vegetable oil (a lot of people there did this becuase oil is so expensive there) and every year without fail, almost everyone got SO sick from those donuts!

Latkes are great! But they are messy to make as oil splatters. I'd say wear a shirt you don't really care about for making them. You can always bring a nicer shirt to change into if they have a dinner later on.
