Ireland

Anyone going to Ireland for their HM and can you give a good travel agent recommendation? FH and I need to book after the holidays and I'm not sure who to look into. TIA.

I'm not going for our honeymoon, but this is the travel agency we have used in the past and their are really good, they are based in the city, but I'm sure they would help you over the phone. Where in Ireland are you planning on going?

Hi,

I'm from there and on my last vacation back did some sight- seeing with FH so I had to plan a bit. I don't know any travel agents, but I would def recommend staying in bed & breakfasts. They're much cheaper than hotels, are usually just as nice, and you get breakfast!! Check out this website. I found a couple of the places I stayed in through here. www.townandcountry.ie

I am also interested in going to Ireland. FH has been to Ireland already but this would be the first time for me. I def want something that is romantic but at the same time I want to see some of the major tourist type things. Any suggestions?

All I know is that I don't want to sit still. I want to see everything. I want to visit some of the more touristy places of course (Dublin, Cashel, Cork, Blarney, Waterford, Killarney, Shannonside, etc.), because that is where things are, but I also want to just go see the green fields and relax. To me there are just so many things about Ireland that I don't want to miss out on.

I have heard nothing but great things about the B&Bs so I am hoping to stay there and not in the major hotel chains....my poor travel agent I am going to drive them nuts!!!

Most likely a guided tour. From what I have heard from people who have been there is that you see more through the tours then when you do it on your own.

I think the guided tours would be easiest. We didn't rent a car and did most of our trip through trains and buses and it was a TOTAL pain in the butt. It made getting around very aggravating. Go with the guided tours. It will save you a lot of headaches!!

We didn't go for our HM but whenever my family goes we use Keady Travel . She did have an office in Sag Harbor but has since moved to Ireland. She is very good. Also, I get great advice from Ireland Expert

Yes, my grandparents went through CIE and actually I have been looking at them as well. They have some great tours. Chances are when I go to my Travel Agent I'll bring along the info I found through CIE and use that, at least as a head start. I don't know if you found a website, but I have been looking at irishtourism.com and it has been pretty helpful. Good luck!

Hi, we're doing a Med cruise & then a week in Ireland. This is where I'm at too....we know we're going to do a drive on our own tour from DUblin to Shannon. I checked out CIE, Brennan and Globus. We're booking on our own.
