Augh!!! Vent about other people's weddings
I asked FH if we were indeed going to his friend's wedding in Vegas the last weekend of March. Now forget about the fact that we have a wedding in February, and our own in April.
So we both have enough frequent flyer miles for a free flight, but through different airlines. I tried mine, but no economy seats are left for the award travel. Fine he said he can pay for one ticket. He booked his flight with his miles. So here I am now trying to book either the same flights as him or at least another airline with similar times.
It seems impossible!! And the same flight as his is about $400, and any other airline is off by a few hours or through another airport!! Aughhh!! He said he really want to be there for his friend's wedding, which I understand, but shelling out money 1 month before our wedding, when final payments are due really upsets me when he keeps telling me I can't buy things that are $20 and yet he's willing to plunk down $700 for the flight and hotel!!

Yeah, the money thing does get very frustrating. Especially when like you said don't buy anything cause we need money then they go and spend an insane amount on something. FH does this from time to time also. Usually when he does this, he's already worked it out and it won't cause to much of a strain on us financially, do you think your FH did the same? It just stinks cause I get it that he wants to be at his friends wedding and you want him to be there for his friend but the money is a royal pain in the butt.

Not for nothing but men tend to find money for things they feel are important. FH wanted to go to homingcoming up at our old school but didn't see the practicality in doing some things for our wedding. They do what they want.

Oh shush, I wouldn't miss yours for the world!!!
It's the money we have to shell out for this one that bothers me!! He didn't want to drive 5 hours for his cousin's engagement party, but he'll fly 6 hours and spend 3x as much to go to his friend's wedding in Vegas!!!
(I personally think it's the Vegas thing, as he loves to gamble, although luckily, there won't be much time for that!!)

Is is possible he could attend, and no you? I know you would rather be with him, but if it cuts down cost and you don't know them very well. That way you save some money for what you need to do.

Cheapest I found was $419. I'm guessing we're traveling during a convention or something.
We're leaving on a Friday night and leaving that Sunday afternoon. Since I managed to get the same flights as FH (which he got his ticket for free), it ended up costing $460, a lot more than we thought it would be.
The hotel, we wanted to be on the strip, so we saw a 4 star for $150 on Hotwire...turned out to be Paris, so we're staying there and FH is excited.
Whoever said going to Vegas was cheap, did not go on a late March weekend!!! I can now kiss my Miami trip goodbye for my bachelorette party, because I was hoping to have that planned for the week after!!!
