Re: eBay question re: Coach bags

yup...1st bag I ever bought off ebay was a fake - a good one but a fake at that. I wouldn't do it - if it sounds too good to be true it usually is.

did the description of the bag say 'authentic' at all? did you get your money back?

Re: eBay question re: Coach bags

You dont buy a designer bag off of Ebay. Spend the extra money and get it in the store where it is gauranteed to be authentic.

a few years ago I bought a Fendi bag on eBay for $150 and verified at Bloomingdale's that it was real. the bag retails for almost $600. So I had a good experience with that one. however, I have heard mixed reviews with the Coach bags.

Re: eBay question re: Coach bags

DH bought me a bag on eBay and it was fake but ...I have sold a lot of coach and kate spade bags on ebay that I don't use anymore so there are real bags out there. I would make sure it says authentic and make sure that if you get the bag and you are not happy with it that it can be returned.

To be honest with you I don't know if it said authentic...it was a few years ago. I didn't get my money back bc the seller would only refund my $ after I sent the bag back and I didn't feel comfortable sending it b/c I didn't feel like he was trustworthy - so I kept it. Like I said it was a really good fake so I dealt with it. However, I would never buy another one off ebay. There are definitely really ones sold on ebay but it is a crapshoot.

Re: eBay question re: Coach bags

I wouldn't buy off of E-Bay.. The Coach outlet is hit or miss..they don't have the latest things but sometimes you can find good stuff there. Have you ever tried TJ Maxx?? I have heard that ones out East have real Coach bags!

Re: eBay question re: Coach bags

Yup. The Coach bag I bought was super fake. I should have known better. Particularly if a seller has several to sell, they're most likely fake.

ok, you ladies have convinced me to not buy from eBay, thanks! I would have saved $100, but if it was a fake I would have been SO

I've seen some Coach bags at Marshall's but they're always HUGE. good prices though!

Re: eBay question re: Coach bags

I have purchased Fendi, LV , Prada and Coach bags off of ebay and have been very lucky except for recently- I purchased an LV that said authentic and it was a fake! I got most of my money back but it left a damper on future purchases on ebay. the seller claims they didnt know it wasnt authentic be careful cause there is a template for eluxury.com reciepts AND do a search for mirror image bags of the maker. this way you can see the way the bag is supposed to be and ask for the serial number and pic of the bag with the serial number, that is how I found out LOTS of bags on there are fake. the others I have I verified at the department stores or the LV store. Good Luck and read sellers feedback and go ahead email some of their buyers and ask questions you can do that.

Re: eBay question re: Coach bags

I bought a real Coach off ebay, and did a lot of research before I bought it. I fell in love with a limited edition, and before I knew it, they were gone. I went onto ebay, learned the language. Look for tags, a pic of the actual bag you will be buying, guaranteed authentic or your $$ back.

I was very satisfied with my purchase. I did not save anything by buying off ebay, I just got a bag that was no longer in the stores.

Re: eBay question re: Coach bags

I got a real Coach purse off of Ebay for $100 and it retails for $300...it came with all the paperwork, the dust bag, and I compared it to my friends' that is authentic, and it was a match.

But, I also bought an 'authentic gucci' and it turned out to be fake....it's really all about luck on Ebay..

Re: eBay question re: Coach bags

I bought a wallet which said it was authentic, and it was a fake. I returned it with no problem, the seller even paid for my shipping it back, the money was refunded before I even sent it back to them.
I learned my lesson. I would never buy a designer anything from someone who is selling hundreds of designer items. Where are they getting them from? Either they are fake or fell off the back of the truck. Look for used ones- people who are selling their own bags because they are not using them anymore.

Re: eBay question re: Coach bags

You can definitely buy authentic designer bags on Ebay, just do your homework!

Know the right meaurements, color, pattern etc. Ask for the serial #, and call Coach's customer service # with it. They will be able to tell you if it is real or not. You can also go to the store and ask a sales rep.

Check the sellers feedback:

-do they have lots of good FB for selling authentic designer bags?

- or a lot of negatives?

Re: eBay question re: Coach bags

I bought two bags on ebay and they were both FAKE. Ugh...so upsetting. The ad said authentic and everything. It had fake paperwork. One I was able to return the other I wasn't. I would never do it again. Too good to be true.
