What is the strangest / funniest suggestion you have received in the wedding planning process?
I'd really love to hear some stories from future brides on weird comments and / or suggestions made on the wedding plans...
I'll start:
FMIL has more money than God, however feels that FH and I having a "formal wedding" is a waste of money (mind you, we are spending about $15K of OUR money on the wedding AND FMIL threw her daughter one of the most expensive weddings I've ever seen).
Anyway, we are having coffee and she says "well...I want to let you know that I've talk to FH's uncle (who lives in Florida) and he has agreed to let you and FH HONEYMOON AT THEIR PLACE! They are fine with staying with me for the week while you and FH honeymoon at their apartment"
Not only did I find this strange for the mere fact that I'd be 'consumating our marriage' in his 70 year old uncles apartment, but also that the uncle lives 20 minutes from FMIL. I kindly thanked her for trying to help, but that we aren't honeymooning in Florida on a beach type of people.

That my FG's should wear BLOOMERS underneath their dresses to cover their panties. Gotta love mom. She was thinking something along these lines:
Hey ChristineAEV? Do you do monograms for BLOOMERS? Come on, what do you want? My mom was born during the Great Depression!

my FH's friends' mom said she would help make the centerpieces...out of paper? like something you could buy at Party City.
I don't think so....
