DIY invites - update
outer envelope, and inner petal w/band
So here is some pics of the invite and inserts. They are not ready to print yet, still need some tweaking... but they are the basic idea. I don't know why I can't get them to post more clearly... and why the reception card does not have the border all the way around or why the direction is bigger...
And again, I know these are not everyone's taste...
BUT do you guys think that having a different illustration on each card is a yay or a nay? Do you see a cohesiveness? Am I out of my fukcing mind, talking about cohesive invites?
(do I need an intervention Christine
)I wanted to post to get some feedback, even though they aren't fully done.

Re: DIY invite envelope liners and belly bands
I love the way this looks, but is that really called a belly band? They use something called belly bands on male dogs to prevent them from peeing in the house. Your invites don't look like that!!!!!

I thought the same thing, but that's what people call them. I couldn't make these crazy terms up!

gorgeous! is paper source a store or online? will you print the inserts and everything yourself? if so, which program will you use? I'm really thinking I'd like to make my own invites but I am overwhelmed by the thought.

I posted them on your DIY thread also. I got the actual liner and band paper from Kate's, the paper cutter from AC Moore, all envelopes, petals, and the template from Paper-Source. We ran the liner all the way to the end.

There is a store but its out of state. The website is www.paper-source.com and I highly recommend them. I placed 2 orders with them last month, and received everything within 5 days of each order. Their stuff is really nice quality.
We are designing the invites ourselves and then sending them out to a printer. We are using InDesign and Illustrator to design them. It's really pretty easy to design them using any desktop software... the printing part can get tricky depending on the type of paper you use, the size, the quality of your printer, etc.
eta: I'd be happy to help you out with them if you go the DIY route.

I am so bad at following up on my posts...
I will check them out!
I also just noticed that the floral pattern PERFECTLY matches your STD bookmark!
Beautiful!
You also make me realize that I should probably get off my butt and do something...

I think the different designs are great. The color carries over, so it still matches. Like when you're playing Uno.ANYWAY!- I think they all look great!

I love them, it complements the summer nicely. The invites came out great. Someone I know, at their wedding, used the same colors and it looked great.
