Question re: Video - Raw Footage
What exactly is raw footage
Say you have a 12 hour package and you get a 1 hour DVD as the finished product. Is the raw footage:
1) 12 hours of everything shot from start to finish and not edited at all
and if this is the case is it several DVD's of material from all cameras rolling from the day
2) 11 hours of tape - not including parts from the final DVD

3) something else
ExplainThanks

Re: Question re: Video - Raw Footage
raw footage is every single minute of video taken before it is edited down, and the unimportant parts are taken out

Re: Question re: Video - Raw Footage
I thought raw footage was everything - raw everything. What is considered the 'unimportant parts?'

Raw footage is everything. You get to see the stuff that make the cut.
lets say you have a long alise ... they will film everybody walking down the alise but the made fade in/out that you didnt have to walk 1 mile to get there.
During your viedo, you will only here a couple of songs with your guest dance...they may of taped a couple of more songs but didnt play it, etc...
or lets say uncle bob got in front of the camera and was drunk and silly and you didnt want it, they wont but it on there...but they got it on tape

Re: Question re: Video - Raw Footage
Oh, ok, it was as I thought. You know I will sit there and watch over five hours of video! Over and over again! But, hmm, now I wish I had an Uncle Bob!
That would definitely give us a chuckle for the years to come!

Re: Question re: Video - Raw Footage
okay, I can now answer my own post
The camera is not rolling all day long even if you have a 12 hour package. So the raw footage is the 3 - 5 hours of tape that do not make the 1 hour video.
