Hotel - Opinions Wanted
FH & I have been looking around at hotels for OOT guests. Our ceremony is at Exit 53 on the LIE, the reception is at Exit 68 on the LIE.We can book one of EW's recommended hotels out in Riverhead, which we think will translate into a ton of people not coming to the ceremony, or we can book somewhere in between.
Which hotel do you think we should book on this list?
Prices are between $119 and $149. The least expensive and the most expensive include hot continental breakfast. Would that matter to you?
Accidentally didn't finish poll:
Exit 63 Hampton Inn is the last choice.

Re: Hotel - Opinions Wanted
I would say closer to the ceremony location. Because this way they can make it to the ceremony!! No matter what, everyone will go to the reception, so I wouldn't be too concerned about being close to there, unless you have a group of large drinkers coming to your wedding. The other advantage is that it would be closer to the airports for when they go home.

I am an East Wind Bride too and my guests are staying at the Hampton Inn. However, Hampton Inn didn't provide a shuttle for us, so we had to get our own. I don't know if I helped. Good Luck!

I personally like Marriots, so that is where I chose. I've always had a great experience with them.

Which Hampton Inn?? The one at Exit 63 or the one at Exit 57? Which shuttle company did you use??? Any info on that would be extremely helpful.

Re: Hotel - Opinions Wanted
I would book a hotel close to the reception. If you have a lot of OOT guests, you dont want anyone getting lost on their back to the hotel. You also dont want people driving too far late at night when they are tired and have been drinking. It is at least a half an hour between east wind and the radisson.

I'm also getting married at the East Wind and I booked rooms at the Marriott in Lake Ronkonkoma - they gave me a good deal and it's not too far. Plus, I think they provide shuttle bus service to the reception hall.

Re: Hotel - Opinions Wanted
Are you assuming that all your OOT guests will be renting cars? That's my dilemma... I got a hotel that has a shuttle to the airport, but now I feel responsible for transporting them to/from receptionI'd say go closest to reception

Re: Hotel - Opinions Wanted
I would say go closer to the reception. If people are making the effort to come for OOT I am sure they want to be at the ceremony. We are planning on having a shuttle from the hotel to the church and then to the reception for the OOT guests. Then provide a shuttle at the end of the reception back to the hotel.

Re: Hotel - Opinions Wanted
I would go with the Islandia Marriott because I have been there and it's a very nice hotel!I would not recommend the Hampton Inn because it's right on a major intersection and the LIE overpass is a stones throw away from some of the rooms.

I booked with the Mariott...they offer a lot of extras...they are reasonable...and their suites are so nice. Have gone to see all the hotels. If you see the Courtyard, you will be impressed! I was...and the price was good for room blocks. Our reception is all the way out at exit 70 and the ceremony is all the way in the Hamptons. All of our out of towners are totally fine with the location of the hotel.
