Re: Crows Nest in Montauk?
I looked at the Crows Nest...it was nice but if you want only the one day, I don't think they will do it. They are only allowed to do a certain # of weddings per year (some weird Montauk law) so they seemed fairly inflexible about having less days...I asked.HTH!!

I stayed there for a night a year ago because I wanted to check it out for our wedding and it is a little seedy.... IMO...

Re: Crows Nest in Montauk?
My cousin went to a wedding weekend there and loved it. She is very picky a (designer in NYC) it is tented on a lawn she said it was so much fun we are a fun Fire Island crowd. If you have friends and family that like to dance and have fun for a weekend it would be great. Remember when you have a tent you can decorate it any way you want so it can be elegant or casual. Hope I helped

Hey!!! I'm from Montauk!!! We are NOT ALL strange!
Back to the original question... i wouldn't recommend Crows Nest. Yes they have this deal that sounds amazing, but IMHO... the place is sketchy and i don't particularly like it. But to each their own. (no one from montauk actually gets married there... think about that). But then again... i'm from montauk and we're strange, so what do i know?

Re: Crows Nest in Montauk?
I went there a long time ago with an exboyfriend just to check it out. The guy [I can't remember if he was the owner, he was an older man] was rude and basically did not want to deal with us because he knew we didn't have $50,000 for a wedding. Back then he said that they ONLY do weekend weddings. You would have to get people to stay at their hotel which looked gross.

Re: Crows Nest in Montauk?
For the record everyone is strange in their own way that is what makes us unique and special. Dont be so sensitive!

Please don't try to make what you said, sound as if you said nothing wrong. Especially when you say ALL of montauk is strange. It only makes you look worse. A simple... 'i'm sorry i didn't mean to offend you' would have been sufficient or at least on the nice side. But instead you tell me not to be so sensitive. How should i take that? Should i be happy that you just insulted where i live and then you tell me not to be so sensitive? How would you like it if i told you not to be such a b*tch?

I did not realized that people like to argue on the board it is a shame. All we want is to help other people and share information. Anyway good luck with your planning.

ME TOO!!! And maybe if people weren't so judgemental of others around here, there wouldn't be arguements. It's offensive when people start insulting where you're from.
People should really look in the mirror before they start saying things about a place and the people that live there they know nothing about. ESPECIALLY if YOU ONLY SUMMER THERE.

Re: Crows Nest in Montauk?
If you actually read my post I wrote how montauk is strange the hotels, bars etc.. not the people it has a strange feel. If you have a complex please do not take that out on others. Try to read the whole post before you jump down someones throat of whom you do not even know. So the person who is judgemental is yourself. FYI I am not from NYC.

your post: 'Oh by the way All of Montauk is strange'
I'm sorry... where in that post are you talking about the bars and hotels being strange? And for the record... maybe you should take your own advice! 'Don't jump down someones throat of whom you do not even know.' Isn't that what you said? It's funny because you replied to the original post and that was fine. But then you put up another reply about all of montauk being strange. So tell me... why is all of montauk strange????
Instead of saying i'm sorry for offending you... you told me not to be so sensitive. And here i thought everyone on this website was nice or at least polite. My mistake.
'If you actually read my post I wrote how montauk is strange the hotels, bars etc.. not the people it has a strange feel.' ---> See now you're just trying to cover your *** and you're grasping at straws here! Nice try but i'm not buying it!
Seriously, anyone else who is reading this thread... how would you feel if someone said that about were you live? What if i said all of islip was strange??

Re: Crows Nest in Montauk?
i've never been there - but that's where my brother got engaged, so this post made me smile....well, until i read it and saw people being mean to other people.....back to nice things.....my brother actually flew his girlfriend out there to propose to her....and he chose a place on long island so they could go there for dinner every year on their anniversary - isn't that sweet?
