Re: Please proofread my invitation and reception card!
i think that if you are going to put his last name is the title then you should include your last name too because it looks very empty especially since you have such a short name with no middle, compared to his three

I agree with you, but my mother thinks it's not 'traditional' for me to put my last name in. I thought about leaving his last name off, but it made him sound like a hairdresser!

Actually, if you include his parent's last name, his last name is not needed. So you can just do first name...son of...

Re: Please proofread my invitation and reception card!
what about putting 'half past three' instead of three thirty? thiis wil make itmore formal but it might make you feel better about the 3:30 part.

This is driving me nuts! Thanks for your input...you all have good suggestions. I guess I just have to play around with it a little more.

That's what I was going to suggest - and maybe half past six for the reception card too?

Re: Please proofread my invitation and reception card!
if you're using 'honour' instead of 'honor,' then use 'half past three' instead of 'three thirty.' this way it follows the british form in both cases.i also agree with whoever said to take out your FH's last name. use just his first and middle name since his parents are being named below w/last name.
also, in the reception card, i would omit the word 'at' before the time.

Re: Please proofread my invitation and reception card!
For the date, it is two-thousand six no 'and' before the six. Technically, two-thousand and six in numbers is 2000.6, whereas two-thousand six is 2006.

Actually, there is great debate about this topic.

If your FH has a degree in math, there is no debate.
