Re: is there an official George Washington Manor Thread!

My wedding is coming up at the Manor in July. I've had a good experience so far with our banquet manager Melissa.

We met with Melissa too. Our wedding is in October. We liked the Bryant Room, but tomorrow we are going back to look at the Presidential Room. Which room are you using?

Great service, great staff, great food.

Would you mind telling me which room you used and how many people you invited? We are having a small wedding, but we don't want the room to be too small.

Also, we're not sure which menu to have (1-star, 2-star, or 3-star).

TIA

I had 32 guests (VERY small wedding!). We used the Paul Revere room (I think!). I could have gone with the size up though. I don't remember the menu stars. I had the menu with 4 hour reception, 1 hour CH. Open bar, champagne toast, 3 menu options ($45, $55, $65). We chose the $55 because we liked the food selection best. They actually let me switch the fish from the expensive menu into the cheaper one for free.

All our guests loved the place and food.

I also used the chapel.

We chose the Mt. Vernon room -- we loved the hardwood floor, all those windows and the adjacent area below for the cocktail hour. We were able to negotiate the minimum down to 65 people for that room, though it looks like we're going to have about 85 guests in the end anyway. But the nice thing about the GW Manor is that it has different rooms with different decors and characters. We did not choose the Presidential Room because we didn't like how prominent the portrait of Washington was, but that is just our taste. I love the peaked ceiling in the Bryant Room, but it was too small for us.
