'Man' of Honor?
Just curious if anyone had or been to a wedding where instead of a MOH there was a Man of honor? I want my best friend Joe to be my man of honor instead of making him one of the groomsmen but people have being trying to dissuade me!

Re: 'Man' of Honor?
My SIL did this. She had her BF be a man of honor, as well as her sister being her maid of honor. I don't think anyone even batted an eye about it.

Re: 'Man' of Honor?
if you feel strongly for your best friend to stand by your side as you wed then that's the perfect way you should go about your wedding. my friend, ken asked me to be his best woman but due to heavy controversy i was nixed. i understood, tho. whatever you do your friend joe will be with you. good luck with you decision.

You should do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My friend did this and I think it was great. You should have whoever you teel closest to stand up for you. If you don't you will regret it. Go with your heart.

Re: 'Man' of Honor?
JMO, and I am just stating from my familys view, but having a man stand next to you as 'your best friend' takes something from your FH. I think people will look at that kinda wierd, my family is very traditional, and If i had one of my guys friends up there, i know i will hear comments, and your best friend standing next to you or next to your husband wont take away form your day, but in pictures you will be standing inbtw two men,on my wedding day, I would want one man, supporting me, standing by my side as my best friend to be my FH..that is how i feel, it is just an opnion...
I know I want to be his everything on that day too, and if he had one of his best girlfriends next to him as his best woman, i would not be jealous but I want me to be the only woman he thinks of as is best anything, just for that day!!!(at any other time, whatever, i wouldnt care)..that day,.its about us and how we are the only man and woman for each other in terms of love, friendship, anything and a wedding day is for that special bond to be celebrated, it would take something away from it to have it any other way in my eyes, FH eyes, or in the eyes of our guests...JMO again...

Re: 'Man' of Honor?
I've never been to a wedding with a man of honor, but it's YOUR wedding, so why not? your friend should not have to feel 'stuck' with the groomsmen!
