Teachers, advice please

I just received my MA and am starting the job hunt for Sept. I am using OLAS and the Sun NY Times mainly. It feels very overwhelming since I have not done a job hunt in 5 years. Any advice or suggestions? Thanks.

Re: Teachers, advice please

Make a list of all the districts that would interest you, and go directly to their website and see if they are hiring.
Also, when I did that job hunt, I just sent resumes to all the districts that would interest me, and got TONS of calls for interviews!! Even though they aren't advertising, you never know what could happen! If they suddenly need to hire, at least they will have your resume on file!!
Good luck to you!

Re: Teachers, advice please

also, send out your resume at different times, such as now, april and even early september. often people retire early, don't come back from maternity leave or just have other reasons aside from leaving in june. i once interviewed at boces for a job that was opening in april!
