Re: Out of town bags for Hotels

I'm putting my favorite Long Island wine (Pindar Autumn Gold) and maybe candy apples for the fall theme... and maybe a cd of our favorite songs 'for the ride home' since we probably won't end of picking that as our official wedding favor...

Re: Out of town bags for Hotels

Depending on where your guests are staying, you could either give them info on attractions or some kind of coupons for free food/beverages. MY sister put a voucher in each of her OOT bags for free coffee and a pastry at this bakery that was right near the hotel. Everyone loved it since they got a nice fresh bagel instead of a candy bar for breakfast!

Re: Out of town bags for Hotels

I'm trying to figure this out too. But since we have 150 OOT guests, I'm trying to go cheap and thoughtful. Bring on the ideas!!!

They'll be in the city so I'm including subway maps and tourist brochures. In addition to water and some snacks - courtesy of costco and the 99c store.

Re: Out of town bags for Hotels

Granola bars were a nice add for a bag I recently received. We didn't feel like sticking around for breakfast and it was a good snack to munch on in the morning.

Yep, the chips are called North Fork potato chips and you can order them online. I thought it was a fun LI thing to include.

North Fork Chips

I also included chocolate covered biscotti that I found at Sam's Club and a small bag of ocean-scented potpourri since our wedding was on the water.

Re: Out of town bags for Hotels

Okay... apparently I don't know how to insert a link, but I thought this was a cute idea:

I've bought these candles before at the Oyster Festival... they're the Long Island Candle Factory, and a lot of their scents are named after places on Long Island, like Montauk Mist. It would be nice to put a candle in the bag/basket. And they make travel candles, too... I know whenever I go to a hotel, I love having candles in travel tins to bring with me. And, if you're having matchbooks made, throw one in with it. (if not, see if your hotel or reception hall has matchbooks to put in).

Re: Out of town bags for Hotels

My mom put small bottles of champagne in them, then went to price-club and got all different kinds of snacks, gum, candy. But my sister (the bride) made up cute crossword puzzles and word searches for the guests as well.
