I think some people do, some don't. It's a nice gesture I think. Mine is my uncle so he was already on the list.

I haven't talked about that to darren yet. It's a nice idea considering he will be doing the honors of marrying us. Good point!!!!

Mine is my FH's uncle!
Most of the rehearsals I've been to recently have been with a church appointed wedding planner, no officiant.

Yes, he is invited to the rehearsal and the the reception. He has known me since a child and is truly excited to see me married... We all want him there, BUT i think it depends on the situation

I was wondering the same thing. I didn't even consider inviting him to the rehearsal dinner. I think we will.

Re: Do you invite your officiant to the rehearsal dinner
I will be inviting the priest to our rehearsal dinner and reception. He may or may not decline, but I am leaving that up to him. I would think that's it's proper 'etiquette' do so. Depending on how well they know you and your family personally, they may or may not decline. I drank with the priest at my cousin's wedding in November. they love coming to weddings!

I'm inviting April, she is just so great. I even invited her to my eparty but she had a wedding that day, which I figured she would. But she is more than welcome to our RD.

Re: Do you invite your officiant to the rehearsal dinner
We are planning on having an actual rehersal, so I plan on inviting the judge to both (although since he is actually still sitting on the bench and I'm planning this for Thursday, I doubt he'll make the rehersal part).

Re: Do you invite your officiant to the rehearsal dinner
we're not going to. We don't even know the guy and i'm not the religious type... so i think that would just make me a little uncomfortable. Plus i want people to be able to be themselves and you can't exactly do that around a priest!!Welcome New Vendors
