Anyone hear of hand cancelling wedding invites??

Someone told me I have to take my invites to the post office to HAND CANCEL them instead of putting stamps on them. Has anyone ever heard of this? What is it? I'm confused...

Re: Anyone hear of hand cancelling wedding invites??

No sweetie...it's not instead of stamps, it's in addition to stamps. Hand cancelling is just 'cancelling' out the postage with a stamp by hand vs. running the invite (and running the risk of tearing the envelope) through a feeder-type machine.
