Re: How Many had the 'uh-ohs' when picking a date

I actually didn't think about that, but now that you brought it to my attention, I am glad my date does not clash with anything major.

We picked our date more due to work/school schedules.

OMG....my SIL is dating a sports fanatic and I'm so glad DH isn't one of them. He has a healthy relationship with sports. I don't think I could handle it.

Re: How Many had the 'uh-ohs' when picking a date

not a groom- but fh told me dates it could not be because of world cup soccer this year... BUT turns out that our wedding falls right in the middle of playoffs or something...BUT it shouldnt be a problem since his country (ecuador) most likely will not be getting thata far...these are his words...not mine

Re: How Many had the 'uh-ohs' when picking a date

just had to add...

I think I'm a bigger Yankee fan than my FH, but we both LOVE them So we wanted a Fall wedding, but waited for NOVEMBER when the Yanks will have already WON the World Series.

Plus, he'll be surprised by the Yankee garter and his Yankee 'Birthday' Groomscake!

Your mouth to God's ears!!

1 of my closest friends is a Mets fan (and he lives in the Bronx - I don't get it), so I want to really do some Yankee stuff. He will suffer major carrying a Yankee flag or even donning a Jersey! I have to do something - he once won a bet and I had to wear a Mets Hat - I am looking for Pay Back even 6 years later!!!!!

Re: How Many had the 'uh-ohs' when picking a date

I'm not a sports fan but we did have to be careful of other dates. Our wedding is a mixed religion and we had to be careful not to pick a day that interfered with any other holidays.

Re: How Many had the 'uh-ohs' when picking a date

no offense or anything but where are ur priorities??!!!!?? ur woman or a game??? well - just an idea - my cousins wedding fell on the last game of the subway series and all my uncles & most of the men were given little earpiece radios that they could where which was VERY cool & everyone got a kick out of it....so if the big day DOES fall on a sport date, it's a cool little touch & shows your definetly taking care of your guests..... on the other hand, I wouldn't voice your aggravations on this to ur FW.... I'm all into sports & know my guys a fanatic, but i know it would REALLY hurt my feelings to think that a football game is coming before me.

Re: How Many had the 'uh-ohs' when picking a date

I didn't have a problem picking a day around sports, but I had other issues. We picked March, then we ran into a few problems. We had to work around the first week of March, when everyone from my job will be in Vegas. Then we had to throw out the last week because my friends, including my best man, either won't be around, or be forced to skip something important to them. We finally settled on a friday night in mid March. Then we ran into another problem. Friday night in March, it's Lent, so more than a few of our guest wouldn't be able to enjoy thier meal fully. So we scrapped the month of March compleatly, and moved it to May. I am a huge sports fan, but that never came into my thought process. I guess the only thing I would run up against would be if the Rangers ran deep into the playoffs next year. Even if that happens, to me it's not that big of a deal. Even if they get to the Finals, I should be back from the honeymoon in time.

Re: How Many had the 'uh-ohs' when picking a date

I am not looking foward to this argument when we really pick a date (the one on my thing is my make believe while i look around for ideas and wiat for the ring hehe) but being huge sports fan, whatever i'll miss but would hate to be away while themets are in the world series or the jets in the playoffs...but he doesn't want to miss anything...cna't wait to sit down and have to decide

Re: How Many had the 'uh-ohs' when picking a date

One of the dates we were considering was April 7... That was before we found out that April 6 was Good Friday, and April 8 was Easter. I am not the worlds most devout Catholic, but out of respect to my Italian family... We are now March 31.
