Followup to Tipping Question...if your vendors are all the owners?
All my vendors are the owners or partners. Does this mean that it won't be rude if I don't tip?For example, my photographers? I'm already paying $3k for just their services (no albums)...That's enough right?
Or my florist? Just the delivery people right?
If I sound cheap fine but I'm already paying thousands of dollars for their services and I'm expecting the best from them, is it bad that I'm not planning to add another $50 or $100 to that tab?
Or should I tip the photo and video just as a good gesture since I'll still be dealing with them after?

I don't think you are supposed to tip until you receive the services, so like DJ and limo night of the wedding, but if you are going to tip a photographer wait until you get the pics in hand.

I don't think people deserve a tip just for doing their job. I don't get a tip when I go to work every day.If I feel a vendor goes above and beyond, then I will give a tip.
I feel like I am overpaying for everything since it is a wedding. And since FI and I are paying the whole thing, I really need to be WOWed to give a tip.

I think tips are nice, whether they are owners or just working for the company. it just shows an extra thanks, and it's completely something that you should do if you want to. Don't feel like you have to.

Many ladies on here would say you have to tip - I'm not so sure about that though. I'm paying outrageous prices for their services already...so like someone else said, if they go above & beyond then I'll tip them.

Re: Followup to Tipping Question...if your vendors are all the owners?
Ok I feel a little better. I'm not stingy - I do feel that if a person does an exceptional job and 'goes above and beyond' then I will definitely tip. But it seems that when tipping is brought up there's this specific formula that needs to be adhered to...My DOC is going to be handing out payments anyways so I won't be there for the awkwardness but still...

i was thinking the same thing! i'll give them a lil something..and if you 'WOW' me then i'll give more..but i think my RH 'recommends' like a $1000-$1200 tip...i was like what!??! after giving you all my $$ you want more....my FI is big on the tipping...but i'm like no...not giving $$ that isnt deserved!
