Bridal shower opinions

Can any of you ladies give me some advise as to where to have a bridal shower in either nassau county, brooklyn, queens or even manhattan. Not even sure how much they usually cost. I know it should be a surprise but my mom wants to throw it herself and doesn't know where to go. She has no family here.

Price ranges would be helpful too.- For a lunch (no brunch)

I had my shower at Lady Mendl's tea salon in Manhattan. It was really wonderful - they served high tea with little sandwiches, fantastic scones, etc. There are also a number of other tea salons in Manhattan that do this kind of thing - Alice's Tea Cup, for example does it for a little less than Lady Mendl's (I think it might be around $20-25pp).
