Does anyone else hate shower games?
I don't like them at all, and I am dreading them at my shower...I told my MOH NO SHOWER GAMES, but I know they are for the guests, so you kinda have to have them...but I have never liked them as a guest and I am dreading them!(no offense to those that like them...I am abnormal)

Re: Does anyone else hate shower games?
you are not alone, i hate shower games,. i feel they are pointless. i think the bingo is nice b/c it gets people talking, but anything else is un-necessary

Re: Does anyone else hate shower games?
I'm not a fan so we had none. The 20+ old school Italian ladies would have just wanted me to get to opening gifts anyway.

Re: Does anyone else hate shower games?
I am on the fence about them...the bingo is okay but everything else is a no-go in my book.

Re: Does anyone else hate shower games?
Not a fan either, I had to go to my FH's cousin's shower and I sat with his older relatives who I didn't know that well and they made me be the toiletpaper bride. Very awkward with people I didn't know that well!

I like them, as a guest....watching the bride open ALL her gifts can be very boring.

I'm up in the air about this. I don't love or hate them. I'm like 'whatever' you know. No biggie for me.

there's one called bridal bingo, where you have to guess what the gifts are, then there's some clothespin game that I totally didn't get, then there was write down on a paper the recipe for e a good marriage (which, if it really existed would have made someone VERY rich!) and other stuff..
there's something with toilet paper too...
I also think watching the gifts opened is boring too.

Re: Does anyone else hate shower games?
they can be ok... i think you need something for the guests to do while you/the bride are opening presents....my sis did not want to do any typical games at my shower, so she came up with some fun things... she made 'poppers'- basically its a little present for each guest that has a joke/quote inside about love/marriage/relationships,..... each guest got one before i started opening presents. when i opened their present, the guest had to open their 'popper' and read the joke/quote that was inside..... it was great! and my sister found some good ones that really kept people laughing and interested and involved while i was opening presents.
the other thing was a video of my FI answering questions about me and our relationship- and it was just so cute to see his expressions while he was trying to remember certain things...

so yeah i agree, shower games are pretty cliche, but my sis managed to come up with a couple that were different and fun

I'm not crazy about them either. Although I find this funny considering I was one of the winners at Baby Bingo at my SIL's baby shower!!!

I don't understand the constant need to entertain guests. Isn't coming to an event enough anymore?
That being said - no games for me!

Re: Does anyone else hate shower games?
I hate them too. Luckily so doe smy MOH, so she kept them to a minimum at my shower. Only wo were played and I didn't have to participate (and I didn't). My guests enjoyed themselves...but I felt odd overall in my shower I don't know how to be 'honored' and all I wanted to do was sit and talk to everyone. I even felt
opening presents. Showers are weird!!
