Spinoff - do you believe in fate?

Do you believe in fate? (this is a little long...sorry)

When I dropped off my address list to my father in law because he was doing the envelopes for us. He was looking at it and pointed to a name and asked who that person was. I explained to him that it was my mother's uncle (he was married to my grandfather's sister). Well it turns out that my FIL's brother was practically best friends with my uncle (I need to preface that this was on my grandfather's side). And they used to spend alot of time together. Heck, at one point, my uncle sold DH's uncle a portion of his stamp collection. Now, my grandmother has a cousin (whom I've never met), who was best friends with FIL's sister! And my grandmother, grandfather used to hang out alot with with FIL's sister and brother. Once in a while my FIL would also. And they all used to live on the same street!

Fast forward to my cousins wedding (the son of my mother's uncle). I,was at this wedding many years ago. SO WERE MY MIL AND FIL!!!!! So, I essentinally met my IL's 20 years before I met DH!!!!

Fate....

I absolutely whole heartedly believe in fate. Meeting FH just strengthened my belief in it.

Wow what a great story! I totally belive in fate...I met FH in 7th grade and we didnt start dating until freshman year in college...we didnt talk or see each other (maybe twice) within those years...its amazing...I know that we were made for each other.

100% everything happens the way its planned to be!

When I was in Kindergarden there was this really annoying- whiney kid Michael that sat across from me. Could NOT stand him,we fought like cat & dog. Thankfully we moved to another part of NY halfway through the year and I never saw him again....until....
my sister brought home her new boyfriend today,Michael is truely one of my best friends & a wonderful BROTHER IN LAW.

BTW, God gave them a duplicate! An equally annoying-whiney son! awwwww.. but I love my nephew to death!

Great story. I definately believe in fate. My FH was born the day that my parents got married, talk about meant to be! I keep joking that on our wedding day a baby boy will be born and someday he'll marry our future daughter!

I heard this cute story from my mom who heard it from one of the girls at the bridal salon a couple of weeks ago:

This girl liked this guy that lived across the street from her cousins house but never said anything about it. Years later she moves to NC for school and a friend of hers set her up on a blind date. It was the guy that she had the crush on!!! Turns out he had a crush on her too and now they both live back in NY and are getting married!

I defintely beleive in fate!
That's agreat story, I have one too.

First, I thought FH was fate, because of how I met him. Then, when I learned that we were born in the same hospital in the Bronx (we live in Suffolk County, so that's not common!).
Then, last year, while I was visisting my Godmother in Westchester- I was talking about how FH's uncle owns this great Italian deli in Tuckahoe. Not only does she KNOW his uncle, but it's because she GREW UP with my FH's mother's family, in the Bronx!
So it is likely that my mother and FH's mother met when children!
Freaky, love it, but freaky.
