CRESCENT BEACH CLUB - Are low centerpieces okay?

I booked my flowers a long time ago, and I keep wondering if I should do high centerpieces instead? What criteria in a room makes it more suitable for one or the other?

Re: CRESCENT BEACH CLUB - Are low centerpieces okay?

Im planning on doing low pieces- we spoke to bill about it and he said that the room itself is so pretty- with all the windows that it doesnt need a lot of decoration-- he even said one bride didnt do any flowers, only candles and it was beautiful-- I would go with low flowers so you dont block any of the view

Re: CRESCENT BEACH CLUB - Are low centerpieces okay?

We had high centerpieces. My florist, who works with the Crescent all of the time, recommended the high centerpieces. I really liked the look of the high ones. I think you'll be fine with either type. Has your florist worked at the Crescent before? Ask to see pics of both high and low centerpieces in the ballroom. If not, the next time you go to the Crescent ask to look through their books.

Re: CRESCENT BEACH CLUB - Are low centerpieces okay?

Thank you! I didn't think anyone answered me on this! I appreciate the input! I think I'll stick with the low... maybe slightly elevated. I think the candles will look beautiful in the window reflection with the ocean backdrop. Good point about blocking the view!

IslandPrincess... I'm doing the same type of centerpiece for the cocktail hour tables (also making them myself). Just a few... and then I was thinking to put some fish bowls with a real fish in each one, but then I wouldn't know what to do with them afterwords. lol

Re: CRESCENT BEACH CLUB - Are low centerpieces okay?

My friend was married at the Crescent Beach Club 2 years ago and she had low centerpieces and it looked great. She did not have flowers she had a glass bowl with floating candles.

Re: CRESCENT BEACH CLUB - Are low centerpieces okay?

I'm doing low because I don't want to obstruct the view outside. But as a florist pointed out to me - the best view of a flower is eye-level or on top.....why do high centerpieces so your guests sit looking at the underside of the flower?

I'm not a flower person - but that made so much sense!

that's a very good point! Thank you! Are you including candles in your centerpieces? I just the reflection will look soooo pretty in the windows with the ocean backdrop!
