working out in a small apartment :(

Just doesnt work ! I bought a Jillian Michael's double dvd and was so psyched to use it. I finally got the step you need to do it from my MIL and I just tried it and I dont have enough room to do all the exercises, it makes too much noise when i just around (we're in a complex) and my lamps were shaking when i was doing the plios part! but i will tell you this...it's a great workout! wish i coudl use it!! I guess I'll have to save it for when we have a house :( How do you apartment complex dwelling people work out at home??

You will figure out ways to modify your moves to fit your space, but some DVDs will be tough to do at all in an apartment and you may need to get a different one.

I don't do cardio at home, but on occasion I'll do muscle work at home and it's fine. If you get yourself a resistence band and some 5 lb weights, you can do a lot of exercises. There are also some you can do using a chair or on the floor and they are not space consuming or loud. Let's see:

tricep dips on a chair

crunches/planks

gluts (get on all fours, resting on your forearms and one leg at a time kick back and squeeze your gluts.

squats

biceps, triceps, chest muscles using weights

I do tae bo at home in my NYC apartment and I used to do it in my college dorms too....I've never had a problem, and I don't have a lot of space to work with!
