Does anyone have 'new' friends since they got engaged?
Weird question I know, but ever since I got engaged this one girl who works in my office comes and visits me every day, sometimes multiple times. All she ever wants to do is talk about the wedding...is it wrong of me to think she might be looking for an invite? Before I was engaged I had only spoken to her a handful of times. Anyone else having new friends crawling out of the woodwork?

I think she may just be excited to talk weddings with you-it can give a person an excuse to get friendly

If she is also in the process of getting engaged or married herself I could see why she is excited to talk to you or possibly become more friendly with you.

I've found at work that some people want to hear every little detail while some people ask occasionally more for small talk.Luckily, my boss falls into the former category and every time we have a meeting, we end up talking about it for longer than we meet about work stuff.

That is so true. When I first got engaged...all these people I have never, ever spoken to or even knew their names were stopping me to see my ring, talk, etc. So strange. It kind of annoyed me, was I not good enough to talk too when single???

I swear I thought I was the only one!!! My boss will schedule an hour for us to meet and 50 of those minutes are spent talking about my wedding!!! It's pretty funny.

I am not really a girly girl. i found that i have more in common with other females now that i am engaged. they seem more interested and we have more to talk about.

There are two reasons one the cute girls who want to talk wedding for their dream wedding and imagine! I have a ton of new friends. It's sor t of weird but I have so much mroe convo with people at work. Then the other reason!!! Fishing for an invite! I hate those people! They just stand around (work and personal) waiting for you to say more and give them a hint if they are invited! ugh! Or even better just flat out ask after a while of doing this 'so am I invited to the wedding? I mean i would really like to go' just for that I don't want to invite those people!!!!! ughhh
FH is like ohhhh but I feel bad now! I'm like f off!!! lol

That's totally what I mean. In terms of just chit-chatting with girls who are also engaged and wanting to talk about weddings...I'm cool with that. This person is not in a relationship and has never really given me the time of day. Now all of a sudden she asks these really random questions (ie. who are you inviting from work? will you invite people just to the ceremony or to both? etc etc). I think maybe I am being evil but I think she is fishing for an invite. Oh well. My list is already busting at the seams...she will not be on it when I can't invite some of my family! Thanks for listening girls--I hope I don't sound like a bi-otch!
