need reception advice YET agian
ok so yes my wedding was postponed because of my soon to be born baby boy.......plus we wanted to have our wedding upstate since its so much more affordable. Well we are still beating ourselves up on how we r paying for everything ( we r paying for everything ourselves) ........so after talking to my dad today he gave me 2 options1. shorten our guest list, keep the wedding in oct and he would pay for it at the reception hall
or
2. move the wedding to summer and have a catered party at his house (which is beautiful and huge, and has a huge backyard)...and keep the number of people we currently have on our list
what would you girls do????
im so confused i feel like i have been changing and planning forver i just want everything set allready!!! HELP!!

A summer backyard wedding, lets you make it as unique as you want it to be. There are soo many options that are open to you and you are able to invite all the people you really want to share your day, so I'd vote for the backyard wedding.Honestly, if my parents owned a home that would have been my first choice.

I think it depends on whether or not you'd be abe to cut your guest list or not, or whether you actually want to.

I think you've waited, postponed, and planned long enough. I want to say Life is short - just get married!! But I know you want to do it 'right' so you'll have to weigh out what means the MOST to you at this point...and that depends on how much you have to cut your guestlist. So that's really what's at the heart of the matter here - how drastic of a cut do you have to make?

The backyard wedding seems like a good idea.My cousin had a wedding in my grandfather's backyard and the setting was great. They got a huge tent and a dance floor. You can do so much with it (unfortunately they didn't but that's another story!)

I think the backyard party sounds like it could be really nice and much more personal than a hall. Even better, all of the people you want to include will be able to come!

Re: need reception advice YET agian
you have to do whats right for you! I went to a great 'backyard' reception upstate last summer....the had a tent with chinese lanterns/white lights, a ton of great food and lots to drink. what i found was great is that it wasn't your average 5 hour reception, we were there from like 4pm till 11 or 12.....which was great and we had soooo much fun! Although it depends on your neighbors how long they'll tolerate the music!! There are pluses for both, for me it would come down to, do I want to find a caterer/dance floor/tent and all that other stuff, or just let the hall take care of it. I think either way its going to be great!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!

Which one do you have your heart set on? I would personally chose the backyard, that way I could do whatever I wanted, and have a bigger guest list, but that is you choice. Send me pics of his backyard TJ, I wanna see what I am missing in Upstate! lol!!! Which summer, 06 or 07????

I have to say if it was up to me Id pick the backyard summer wedding.Which one do you REALLY want? Maybe if you try to cut your list down that might help you decide-there may more people you want to be there then you are willing to cut which might help make your decision easier.

I'd love a backyard wedding and considered it but the costs came out to be more (all the rentals) plus my dad did not want all those people at his house
