Flower Michele quote........

Hi ladies, I just got back from meeting with John at Flower Michele. Here is my quote:

Bridal bk
7 bridesmaid bk
groom/groomsmen bout
2 corsages for mothers
2 bout for fathers
1 corsage for grandmother
2 alter arrangements
pew bows
16 centerpieces raised silver spiral with candles / flowers
staircase drape and bows

My quote came to $3,900.00.... I really didn't want to spend this much on flowers, but I'm not sure how I would cut costs....HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

That actually sounds about right for all the things that you are getting. Have you gone anywhere else to get a quote yet?

You have a large bridal party. I would cut out the pew bows and the staircase drape and bows.

This was the first place I went. I heard great things about John..... The most expensive part is the centerpieces. They were $140 each.....

I went to three different places for quotes and all were within a hundred bucks of each other. I ended up going with Flower Michele, I loooved their work.

My centerpiece is medium height, spiral with small candles and then the flowers sit on top...I really didn't want a low centerpiece, but do you think I could cut down the cost of the centerpiece? I really liked John and would like to work with him.............

sadly that sounds about right -- I'd skimp on the pew decorations, staircase, and altar flowers (can you maybe use the CPs as alter decorations, too?)

That centerpiece for the altar decorations is actually a really good idea... I never even thought of that...

yeah, we're using our CPs as aisle decorations on pedestals beforehand ... saves some money :)

that is about what I am paying for the same thing - I am having 16 tall candelobras with mechanical candles-all roses and hydrangeas
my flowers roses and stephanotis
6 BM bouquets roses and hydrangeas
6 GM and father and grandfather (roses)
2 clutch bouquet flowers for mom and FMIL
flowers for readers and grandma
2 baskets for the church
bows and flowers for the pews

If you wanted to cut costs, I would eliminate the alter pieces and the pew bows. Unless you plan on taking the alter pieces to the reception, they only get donated to the church. The pew bows aren't a necessity, and besides you can make them and cut costs. Just an idea. We're using John as well, and for all your getting it sounds like a terrific price.

I had planned on bringing the altar flowers to the reception...do you think it would be weird not having flowers at the church?

honestly, you can probably get a quote cheaper than that. i know i got a quote from flower michele that was about 30% higher than my lowest quote. but i do have to say that they do outrageous work!

i got what i thought was a crazy quote from flower michelle compared to what i have been seeing on the boards from everyone else - i think the only additional thing i have from what you posted was candles at the cocktail hour and some flowers on the mantel - nothing crazy - i only have 4 girls - the quote i got was $5500!

That is where you save $$$$. I know you don't want low CP, but he quoted me $95 for low CP with candles. At 16 CP's that is a $720 savings. Also, with your venue (Milleridge Cottage), I think high CP will overwhelm the room.

I also recommend shopping around. For example, Laurie at LA Blossom quoted me $300 less than Flower Michele for exactly the same thing.

I am going with flowers etc. vendor on LIW. You should get a quote from Jola....She is really great and so much more inexpensive. FM me if you want her info or look on the vendors page.

I was not ready for $140 for each centerpiece!!! I was thinking $100 was a good amount to spend...... I just loved what he had envisioned for my wedding..... but maybe I should get at least one other quote. I was thinking maybe Pedestals since it is a couple of minutes away from me.........
