Albuquerque, New Mexico......stressfull...yes...

But more frustrating because I just can't jump in the car and meet with vendors....ahhh...the price you pay for a NY wedding......its all worth it though

Re: planning from out of state

Yup... so I did all the biggies so far.. now only two more 'big ones' then i can cruise and do the balance from the comforts of my couch!
It really is aggrevating not being able to go to showcases, see places weekdays when its not as busy...

Thank goodness for this site!!!

Re: planning from out of state

Yep, I'm in DC. Every time that I make a trip back to LI I try to do something wedding related. At least we have plenty of time to get things done! I'm just worried about what will happen 2-3 months before the wedding. It seems like there is so much to be done then.

Re: planning from out of state

just out of curiousity - to the out of state brides - why did you choose to have your weddings on LI? Why not just have them where you are?

Re: planning from out of state

My whole family is on Long Island. My grandparents are getting old and can't travel. Plus, I'm already the black sheep for moving away from NY. I also really wanted to get married on the water!

Re: planning from out of state

My sister (jeanla4c) planned from the DC area. She and her husband had to plan weekend trips home and had to get A LOT done in a short amount of time. She was very organized though and every trip here she had a plan of what needed to be done. Plus, she had our mother and me helping out.

and I did it all in 11 months! In total we did everything in 5 trips (DH wasn't at two of them). In a way I think it was easier since I saw 2-3 vendors and made my decision and didn't question it, I couldn't and Tricia, my mother, and grandmother helped a lot. I also did a lot of things ahead of time or ahead of schedule!
