Any feedback on Jessica McClintock dresses?

I think I found my wedding gown. It's a Jessica McClintock, out of the new catalog, which I picked up on a whim from her store at Roosevelt Field. I wore one of her dresses to one of my proms, but that was a long time ago. :-) Does anyone have any feedback (either way) on her bridal gowns? Thanks so much!!!

We looked at bridesmaid dresses there ... not bridal ....

but I love her work and she is so reasonably priced. I have the catalogue at home, which dress are you interested in? We didn't go with her dresses only because I am having a rainbow wedding and most of her bridesmaid dresses don't come in a lot of colors. I got my bridal gown from Monique Luo though. My recommendation for you, is to keep looking and if you compare every dress to Jessica McClintock, then you know you found your dress! :-) Good Luck!

Another Jessica McClintock question...

Do they do alterations at the Jessica McClintock boutique (e.g. Roosevelt Field)...I found a couple of bridesmaid dresses I like there, but I want to make sure they do alterations before even considering them...thanks so much!

Thanks Cira! Question...

Could it be cost efficient to get them there anyway, then have the girls get them fitted at a tailor? How much were the dresses there (on the average)? Thanks so much...

Thanks Cira! Question...

I didn't look at BM dresses, but I looked at several of the bridal gowns that were there and don't remember seeing one over $500. I've heard that the BM dresses are around $200 or so. The salesgirl immediately gave me the catalog (no prices in it) which had both bridal and BM dresses in it. I left it at my mother's (don't want my fiancee to pick it up in case I get that dress) but think it was about half bridal dresses and half BM dresses.

Thanks for the info. clpunch!

I looked up her website, that's where i got the ideas for the bridesmaid dresses...i hear their prices are decent and the dress are definitely beautiful...i just don't know if i want to get them there without alterations...but then again, the majority of my BM's don't live on Long Island anyway! :) Thanks again!

Sorry it took so long to respond ...

Her dresses for bridesmaids ran from $150 up. The ones I looked at were from $154 to $177 - so that is great price, but I'm doing a rainbow theme and they didn't have many colors to chose from. But there are so many JM stores around, if most of your girls are not from LI - there is more than likely a chance that a JM store is in their area. And if they are true to size, then they might not need alterations or just a hem - which can be done anywhere. I think you need to think about the best option for you. We just picked out the bridesmaid dress at a bridal store that my FH's stepmom's cousin owns (?)- so she discounted the dress and capped alterations. But I would have done JM if they had the colors. Cost was a big concern for me because I didn't want my girls to spend a lot. If you do go outside to a bridal salon, look at After Six by Dessy - beautiful dresses and reasonable prices.
