Flower question- having to do with color scheme

I'm going to visit a florist over the weekend and I have a few silly questions. The first question is do people normally bargain with the florist? The second question is do most people have their flowers match the color of the bridesmaid dresses? Thrid question, if you do match the centerpiece flowers to your bridesmaid dresses do you also match the flowers at the church?

Re: Flower question- having to do with color scheme

When I booked my florist we did not bargain only because the prices were really good. We just got them to throw in like better flowers for the crosages and some little things. As far as matching the dresses I am not. My colors are pink and green. The girls dresses are going to be white and pistachio green. Their flowers are going to be pink and white roses with green leaves surroundning. Im not matching my girls flowers to my centerpieces completely. I am having white roses as my centerpieces because the carpet is maroon in the room and I think pink roses would clash. In the church I am having all white flowers. I think that is traditional but nowadays anything goes.

Re: Flower question- having to do with color scheme

When I went to visit with the florits I'm most likely signing with I brought him a few examples of what I wanted him to replicate. He started to ask me what my overall theme was and what colors the BM are wearing so he can match their bo-k for them - so generally I think that it's a good idea to know what color you're envisioning for your BM's so the florist can tell u what colors you match or complement the BM's dresses. My centerpieces are high with candles and ivory roses and blue hydrangeas. My bo-k will be made of spraypainted ice blue roses with some ivory ones mixed in and the girls will have mostly ivory roses with a few spraypainted ice blue. My church pews will be decorated with blue hydrangeas HTH

Re: Flower question- having to do with color scheme

You can bargain with anyone if money is involved

I don't believe that you have to match your flowers with your dresses, but if you pick a different color I would try to incorporate that into the room by your linens, centerpieces, place cards. etc..

I would match the flowers in the church if you are going to go with something different then the color of the dress.

Re: Flower question- having to do with color scheme

I booked with my florist with a budget in mind, and he worked within my budget and i believe the day of he will surpass my expectations.

As for the color scheme my Boks are not matching my BM dresses but they are complimenting them which in IMO is best because if they are an exact match of your dresses then they will blend in and will not stand out especially in pictures.

Re: Flower question- having to do with color scheme

what i did was i picked my colors for my wedding first (blue and purple) then went from there to dreses then flower choices...im have blue BM dresses, so their bok are lavendar roses...my CP are purple and blue..im not have altar pieces
i did not need to bargain with my florist because they came out well under what i thought they would...good luck!
