My FMIL just told me she doesn't like my favors

On top of all the drama I've had this week from my crazy BM, my FMIL told me today that she doesn't like my final giveaway and that we should get something different. I have 4 favors total...

1. little baskets that have our names and date on them that my uncle had custom made for each place setting
2. votive candles that say 'thank you for sharing our special day'
3. picture frame placecard holders
4. coasters that say 'LOVE'

FMIL doesn't like #4 and wants something bigger. Back to the drawing board. Any suggestions?

If you and your FH like them, what does it matter if she doesn't like them? You can't please everyone.

Personally I dont think it is her business what your favors are. And on a side note those were my favors and I got tons of compliments on them.

I think that they're nice. If you keep letting her dictate your wedding like this then it will no longer be YOURS to cherish. Whatever makes you and your FH likes should be your final decision.

Question....... Why do you have 4 favors/take homes? Your FMIL should butt out & realize that it's not her wedding. I think you should do what makes you & your FH happy. I hope everything works out for ya! BTW.....The coasters are adorable & I would be happy to get those at a wedding.

The important thing is that you like your favors. You can't make everyone happy, and there is always someone who will have a negative remark to make.

In addition, I think your favors are really pretty and a nice idea.

wow, I'm surprise FH didn't like them. FH was reading over my shoulder and saw the coasters you posted and was like 'wow, those are really nice'. I like them too. Sorry he doesn't like them.

i agree with the other ladies...its not you FMIL decision its yours!!if you and FH love them then who cares...dont let her tell you what to do!

I would choose a favor that you and your FH like. I personally really like the Love coasters you have chosen and would love to receive them as a favor.

I try not to rock the boat. She's set in her ways and his family is very old school. I was thinking maybe bottles of wine?

I love your favors, but if you're really set on adding something different, I like your idea of wine bottles. A 1/2 bottle would probably go well with everything, and its less expensive than a a full bottle. You can even get them personalized.

We had porcelain ornaments and personalized pens...everyone seemed to love them- family members and friends had them on their trees at x-mas time

WHat do you mean Back to the drawing board? If she does not like it tell not to take one.

You have to remember that this is your wedding, you should pick what you like.

I LOVE those ! ! I am thinking about getting them for us and my FMIL doesn't like them either, but I DON'T CARE ! ! !

I just wanted to add that I like them alot and I was going to give those out as my favors.
