Monday morning snowy check in
For all the lovely ladies heading to work this morning -- be careful!I'm just wondering to myself what it would take for Bloomberg to shut NYC schools - c'mon, record breaking 26.9 inches isn't enough???

I drove to work in Queens (I live in Queens). My street and some side streets were bad, but the Grand Central was fine. I took it really slow, which is the way to go.Be careful everyone!

I made it in too! It took me about twice as long to walk (I had to walk slowly, they didn't have the sidewalks in my neighborhood done too well) and the train was only about 10 minutes late. There are a couple of people in my office, some from farther away. My goal is to leave on time today!!!

Re: Monday morning snowy check in
Even some of the major roadways are a sloppy mess! 347 didn't even look or feel as though it was plowed this morning!! Thank God for the State though...Stony Brook roads and Nichols up by campus didn't even look as though a blizzard occurred because the roads were completely clear!!!

Re: Monday morning snowy check in
We had to be out on the roads in the brunt of it yesterday (from So. Shore LI to Stamford, CT) for my niece's christening...the roads were bad...white outs & dopey cars driving w/ no headlights...you couldn't see anything. All the cars we saw stuck were SUV's...the roads seem a lot better today...at least the highways.Be careful anyone going to work today!

Re: Monday morning snowy check in
I didn't go in today- FH took my car, and my dad was going to drive me to the train station, but at 6:30AM when I would have been getting ready to leave, LIRR wasn't operating in and out of Penn station. Now they are limited and there was a train stalled on my branch, so it still would have taken me 3 hrs to get to work. I told them I would work from home today.

Re: Monday morning snowy check in
We had no problems, the roads were clear for the most part, but this is the advantage we have of living right off a main highway!!

Re: Monday morning snowy check in
I made it to work with relative ease. Although the only reason I came in was to keep an 11:30 appointment, only to get here and find out it had been cancelled!!
On the bright side, because I am here, I now have a free day off some time in the future.
