Destinantion Wedding Info.

I've been engaged since Christmas and I am planning on having a destination wedding, in La Romana, Dominican Republic. I am finding it very hard to find any information on the venues, and whatever I find is so vague. Does anyone have any info that can help me? I plan on getting married in February 17th, 2007. I'm in the early stages of planning and having a hard time getting started...just a little bit overwhelming.

Just want to let you know we are date twins.... and I am also having a destination wedding (the other side of the world though- Ireland!)

i'm doing a destination wedding also! i'm having mine in puerto rico. You might want to go to a travel agent that specializes in destination weddings, they'd probably be able to help you find information, tell you when the cheapest time to get married in DR is to save your guests some money and any other random info you might need, like if you have to wait a few days before you can get married, if you have to take a blood test, etc..

I have a couple of email address of people who do destination weddings if you'd like them..just let me know and I'll FM them to you!

Actually one of my best friend's is your wedding twin 2/17/07 and happens to be in Costa Rica right now planning her destination wedding. What she did was research a few resorts that offered weddings and had an on-site coordinator. She narrowed it down to three resorts and is visiting them over this weekend, finally selecting a place. Go on the websites that have been suggested to you earlier, in addition to some of the major resort sites and start investigating. You will have an even easier time than my friend as Costa Rica is still a bit under-developed compared to DR.
