saying thanks to parents
my parents are helping us out ALOT with this wedding and I just want a special way to say thank you to them after it's all said and done. i can't do anything too extravagent but i was thinking of getting them a one night broadway package, which includes: prepaid dinner at one of the broadway restaurants, orchestra tickets to a broadway play and a one night hotel-stay at the hilton. i would love to send them away for a few days but my dad works a temp job and really can't take any time off so this is the best i can do for them. do u girls think this is a nice way of saying thank you or do u have any other ideas??? TIA

I think thats a really good idea - me and FH are prob gonna do something like that for our parents, and his parents too ... I also want to have a limo for both families the day of - to take them home. My brother did it for his wedding - and it was the best thing ever to make them get driven home in a limo after the party is finished.

If my mom was into the broadway thing, I would definately do that, but since she's not, I have to think of something else. Thats a great idea though!!!

Re: saying thanks to parents
When my brother got married he gave my parents this really beautiful poem that thanked them for raising him to be a man and everything that they did for him. I think that my sister-in-law found in online not sure. She also gave her parents a similar one.Its kinda long but here it is for anyone who wants it. They typed it and printed it on nice paper and framed it also.
For My Parents:
I know I don't say it often, and you can't read my mind,
But on my wedding day I thought I should be inclined
To tell you how special you are, and you mean the world to me.
A son couldn't have better parents, or a better family tree. I
have always felt much love, even when I was in trouble.
Which all of us know was more than you imagined, maybe even double!
I hope to pass on that love, to children of my own, the example you set will be hard to follow, but I will not be alone.
I was once a little boy that you raised with love and care
I have now become a man, and my life I am ready to share.
She is my life, my best friend, my soul mate and confidante; there is no other that I could ever want.
Tomorrow we'll be joined in marriage, now and evermore;
I'll be armed with the qualities that you taught me, and am now, thanking you for.
Please know that I might not say it, but my heart is full of love, for the things I have, but mostly for, yourselves that you gave all of.
After reading this my mom couldn't have asked for anything more!!!!

Re: saying thanks to parents
I was thinking of also doing a poem for both my parents and my sister and leaving them in a place for them to find after the wedding is over. i just think that would be a great end to the night. with all the commotion of the day i think it's gonna be really hard for me to find the time and express my feelings to my family so leaving them these letters for them to find after the wedding would be a nice touch.

the poem that was there was for the day before - which already is an emaotional day to begin with. I like the idea of putting it in a place where they will find it after the wedding - but with my anal cleaning craazy mom - shed prob find it before the wedding - not after!!
