Trying to get nice clear skin for my big day
Anyone give me some suggestions on whats best to get rid of black heads? I don't have many, but there are enough on my face that I'm freaking a tad.

Regular Glycolic facials should help you get clear, glowing skin by the wedding date.

Re: Trying to get nice clear skin for my big day
Go to a spa about a week before and get a nice pumpkin peel or some sort of natural peel. It will get rid of the dead skin and you face will be glowing.

Re: Trying to get nice clear skin for my big day
if your insurance allows.. go to a dermatologist! I just went the first time for some flaky skin on my nose and I brought up that I've been breaking out alot, told her that I was getting married (soon!!)She was very receptive and gave me some great prescriptions (Retin-A Micro and some other stuff for the flaky skin.. ) to help clear me up.. everything was covered by my co-pay!

Re: Trying to get nice clear skin for my big day
I don't have insurance, my skin is breaking out alot on my cheeks and chin. I am 28 years old, I shouldn't be breaking out anymore. I have tired proactiv and I felt it wasn't for me. I did hear Retin A is pretty good.

Re: Trying to get nice clear skin for my big day
10% glycolic pads at Sephora. AWESOME. You need to cleans everyday, and use an exfoliator every other night or after cleansing use the glycolic pads they are an exfoliator.. that gets rid of your blackheads. Also if you have spare $$$ mags recommend that you get facials once a month to your wedding day... oh steam always helps clear you up and drink LOTS of water!!
Oh also if you are breaking out.. may i make a suggestion:
Go to CVS buy Swiffer pads (little round cotton pads) and after you shower or wash your face... do not use a towel to dry your face, dry your face with the cotton pads.. You could be having a reaction to the stuff on your towels i.e detergent or fabric softeners. I found that trick really helped me

Re: Trying to get nice clear skin for my big day
My facialist told me that to chin breakouts could be from dirty phones- at work, cell, etc. So make sure those are clean and you don't lean on them. The other cause, not so sure if I buy it, for chin brekouts could be eating too much dairy (according to my salon).

Try the Bliss counter at Bloomingdales. The stuff can be pricey, but it works wonders. My skin was a mess last week when I started using it and it was gorgeous in time for my e-party Friday night!

Proactiv is the greatest...I have been using it for years! I have very sensitive skin and I don't have any problems. It will make your face a bit dry, so you need to use a good moisturizer with it.

I had the same problem...I was on antibiotics and did all the 'stuff' including Retin A and Proactive...finally it came down to Accutane. Unfortunately you won't be able to go on it without insurance...it's expensive!!! Not only are the pills expensive, but you HAVE to be on BC, HAVE to have monthly Derm visits and HAVE to have monthly blood work done.

Re: Trying to get nice clear skin for my big day
I've been having problems w/ breakouts too, which is really annoying since I've been using Proactiv for years now....I'm kind of freaking out b/c my wedding date is so close. I asked my primary care physician (internist - not dermatologist) to prescribe me antibotics 2 weeks ago. So far, they've been working... no new breakouts, but my skin still doesn't look fabulous.
I'm just hoping that with good rest, diet and exercise over the next few weeks my skin will clear up!
