NWR: I AM MAD!

disclaimer--this will have lots of foul language in it--cause i am quite bitter right now.

ok now that's out of my system--last nite i went to the drive up ATM to get some moolah...well as i'm about to pull out--i must have misjudged the distance between my car and the steel post next to the ATM machine (i'm assuming it's there to stop people from bashing into the ATM--lucky me)--well you guessesed it--my car and the post had impact! i clipped my driver's side mirror and it snapped. i checked the mirror out after screaming many curse words--and it looks like the inside bracket that they use to mount/seal the mirror to the car snapped. the mirror, case around it, even the electric wire still are fine. (while it was hanging to the side, i stil could use the power mirror functions.)

i managed to ghetto-rig it with some black electric tape (thank goodness my car is black also)--and this morning my FI took it to the dealership to find out about getting it fixed.

it will cost me $340!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FOR A MOTHERFVCKING MIRROR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i think i broke a blood vessel. i mean it's an -05 sentra---not a yukon denali truck!!!! they can't use the mirror--and have to put a new one, install it, labor costs, and paint..... W T F!?!?!? i am so mad right now, i can't express.

That ***** and I have been there. Had my truck for 2 months and backed into a 3-ft metal pole that was for some f-in reason in the middle of a parking lot.

Have you thought of going to an juck yard.. I think.. they have a lot of new car parts.... I lost the side paneling of my car and the dealer wanted to charge me 150 bucks to replace it.. my dad went to the junk yard... and he got an almost brand new paneling for like $20 bucks..

Awww... Honey I feel you.. one night it was raining and I went into Walgreens to get antibiotics bc I was sick as a dog.. I was on my cell with my mom.. whose truck I was driving and I was going to park in handicap, and then felt guilty and as I turned the car I hit the handicap pole.. $3000 later the truck was fixed and I will NEVER park in a handicap again!!

Listen, as long as the mirror is still attached to the car, you are ok, right?? so suck it up for a little and save the money to pay for it.. it will be OK, I promise..

awwww!!! I feel for you ... I got into an accident RIGHT after leasing my car for 3 yrs - bc some a--hole decided to go through a stop sign at 10am in the morning (and didnt see my SHINY silver car)

but ... take it to a body shop that will get parts from a junk yard, and it prob wont cost that much.

Dealerships really stink. You should try to take it to a regular shop. Dealerships tend to charge 2-3 times the regular price.

If FH is handy you could even order the mirror from eBay and have him put it on. Tell him to go to autozone and just ask them how to do it, they are a lot of help.


Luckily FH can do most of the work on our truck.
But an example is:
the Ford dealer wants to charge $50 to change an air filter.
Normal places charge about $20.
With FH doing it, $5 and all you have to do is pop the hood and unhook the click and replace filter re hook and close hood.

that sux!! I acn relate about a month ago three weeks after i got my brand new 06 civic i rear-ended someone! I could have died. I paid out of pocket b/c i didnt wnat to involve insurance and it wasnt that bad. I paid $900 to have my stupid bumer cover replaced and a light. They really kill you when it comes to cars!

i would definately check a junk yard or body shop....my mirror was kicked off once by a friends...yeah he was drunk!

anyhow..i brought it to a body shop and its a lot cheaper and they do the same job a dealership would.

yeah i'm not a b*tch to fvck with. lol

luckily FH and i have some extra cash and i'd rather just get it handled now. they will be fixing it tomorrow. i need my car ASAP to head out of town tomorrow afternoon---and don't want to shop around as i have to work till 5 p.m. today and tomorrow! so FH was nice enough to pay for $240 of it and i have to pay the rest.
