I wore mine on my last interview - the woman who interviewed me was recently engaged, too.

I did because I wanted to look older. I look VERY YOUNG. I get carded when I go to R rated movies. It all worked out well. My boss was actually getting married 6 weeks after she interviewed me.

I don't know what field you're interviewing in, but when I was interviewing in schools, I did not wear my engagement ring - and that was the advice I was given.

Re: should I wear my e-ring to my interview??
I actually heard that it makes you look more stable & mature.. you aren't a 'wild child', 'party girl', 'out all night till god knows when'... literally, those were the words used.. i was told to wear it ALL the time because it supposedly shows youre maturing and settling down... sooo I do. hth

Re: should I wear my e-ring to my interview??
Well, Girl ya know what ... you need to think about that .... Why wouldnt' wear your e -ring. If you are confident ... then wear it and go anyway they are not going to hire you based on your commitment ,they are going to hire you based on your expeirence....
should you even be thinking about this .........
I personally have never heard of such a thing... unless you get paid 1,000,000 .00 a yr ....

Re: should I wear my e-ring to my interview??
i would wear it, just because you are getting married is not grounds for not getting a job...

Re: should I wear my e-ring to my interview??
that is the strangest thing because i would be considered a 'young one' and I was always given the advice to take my engagement ring/wedding ring off on interviews. The whole point is, it shouldnt matter whether or not you are married. It should be based on your experience for the position.

You should not have to hide who you are, If you feel you do because you won't get the job then maybe that job is not worth it.

Re: should I wear my e-ring to my interview??
Wear it and be proud of it.No one is going to judge you based on that and if they do, then you would not want to work there anyway. What if you don't wear it and then get the job??

Re: should I wear my e-ring to my interview??
Actually somebody told me to mention that I'm getting married to a local, because that will show them that I am tied to this area and am not going to just pick up and move away in a year or two, because a lot of young people will get a job but not be ready to settle down yet and then leave them having to hire somebody all over again.I have a lot of connections to this particular place where I'm interviewing though, so somebody might already know I'm engaged anyway, so it's not like I could really hide it. I don't know if that makes it any different.

Re: should I wear my e-ring to my interview??
I went through this when I was interviewing with firms and I got mixed reviews on what to do. Finally someone told me why would you want to hide who you are. If someone wants to make judgments about you based on the jewlery that you wear then maybe that isn't a place you want to work anyway. It stinks that men don't even have to think about things like this & that still to this day in a world where women are considered 'equal' we have to worry about what an employer is going \to think about us if we wear our engagement ring/wedding band.Good luck on the interview--I say wear it!

I can't even believe your posting this question. If someone's going to make a decision about you and your crudentials, based on if your engaged or not is not acceptable. You waited for that ring, you've earned it with your love, and you deserve to wear it EVERYDAY, at EVERY and ANY place you go!!!

I have to agree with that. In addition, it's against the law to discreminate someone based on their look, country of origin, religious belief, race, etc..
That's discrimination. Company have been sued for that.
Nobody can hire you or not hire because you are engaged or not engaged or when to plan on having children.

I work in the educational field - and I never heard such a thing. The education field is the one field that is female dominated - and is a place you want to be especially when starting a family because it is the most stable and child friendly - schools celebrate newly engaged women!

Re: should I wear my e-ring to my interview??
I have to say that you should wear it always. I was a bartender and I was told I wasn't allowed to wear it at work, I got engaged AT the bar I worked in! I wore it anyway - it didn't hurt me in anyway. In fact I got more tips while in that field because my patrons wanted to help me out.As for my Full Time job - it's part of who I am and I interview for jobs with it. This is me and I am attached and I am a great asset to any company. Be strong and go with it.

Re: should I wear my e-ring to my interview??
I'd say that if the fact that you're getting married is going to hurt your chances of getting a job, you probably don't want to work for that company anyway...Definitely wear it...
