ceremony at reception site - no rehersal??

I would like to have my ceremony at the reception site and they said if they have an event there on friday night we cannot have a rehersal.

Is this the norm? Should I be nervous not having a rehersal?

Re: ceremony at reception site - no rehersal??

We're not having a rehearsal either. We're getting married on a Sunday at our hall, and the only day we can get everyone together before that is Friday, and they have weddings that day.

Re: ceremony at reception site - no rehersal??

Our hall doesn't do rehearsals as well. We lined up as the guests were sitting down. And they told us what to do. Then we took turns walking out.

Re: ceremony at reception site - no rehersal??

My FBIL was married at their hall on a Friday evening. What we did was had a rehearsal that day w/ just the bride, went thru the whole thing. Then did a rehearsal with groom, again went thru whole thing.

I had no rehearsal and it was fine. the Rabbi lined us up right before the ceremony and told everyone what to do... it's not rocket science

Re: ceremony at reception site - no rehersal??

We're doing a quick run through before the guests arrive for my 11:30 Sunday ceremony. Should be fine as we've all been in weddings before.

We'll do a rehearsal with our officiant (just me and FH) before hand though so we know what to expect.

WE did a really quick rehersal right before the actual ceremony, before they let guests into the room. IT was fine

Re: ceremony at reception site - no rehersal??

When my older sister was married at the swan club, she didn't have one, they don't allow them. It came out fine when we all walked down. Have everyone meet up ahead of time to line up.

Re: ceremony at reception site - no rehersal??

Most places don't 'allow' a rehearsal regardless of the day your wedding is taking place. This bummed me out at first, but I guess that's what hotel hallways are for!

Westbury Manor does a dry run right before the actual ceremony. I thought that was weird at first too...but oh well.

We had the same problem at our hall. There IS a wedding going on the night before our wedding. We've decided to do our rehearsal on Thursday

Re: ceremony at reception site - no rehersal??

I am having my ceremony at the hall on a Sat night. I am and was told that my rehersal dinner would be either the Wed or Thurs before.

In my opinion, I would not feel comfortable not doing one. I don't want have to think and not know what to do the day of.
