Just curious: is anyone really ever surprised by their shower?

I feel like its inevitable that I'll find out when it is (even without peeking).

Were any of you or your friends really surprised at their shower?

It is impossible to surprise me...

Likewise & I don't see the point of sneaking around w/ someone bound to slip anyway...for 2 minutes that everyone yells 'surprise', I don't know. My MOH asked what day I wanted mine (I wanted it this way).

i'm in the minority here, but i want to be surprised. whats not to love about that? i mean, yeah, just about every bride knows they are getting a shower, but when its when or where they least expect it??

i'm for the surprise shower, but sometimes that is just not an option

I agree. I want the suprise, but I know it's tough since I have a rotating work schedule. My SIL knew about hers and was at the house before all the guests. I just thought that was wierd. I want them to at least try and suprise me!!!

I would like the surprise as well. When my MOH asked I told her I would prefer a surprise but I won't freak out if someone ruins it.

Of course when my MOH had hers she would have killed me if it was a surprise so I made sure to tell her because that was what she wanted.

I have only gone to one shower where the bride was really surprised .... that was the best! I hope I will be surprised but my sister and my mom forget and ask me questions so they are going to slip up for sure!!1

well, my work schedule is really solid on the weekends, so i only gave my mom 2 dates that would work, one was easter sunday, so i knew it would be the feb date......

the only surprise was where it was....

na i live at home and my mom slipped about it, but between her my two sisters and sister in law (and the fact that my MIL) has my gifts wrapped right by her front door) didn't help either.

They have sort of included me in the planning i guess to bridge between the two families...

its in 2 weeks

I was suspicious, but I had no evidence that it was going to be my shower. In fact, my sister did a great job of fooling me at the last minute. She told me that she was going to brunch with her friends, so I didn't think it was possible for it to be my shower. I was pretty surprised when I walked in.

So far, I know nothing! But that could change.

I went to a shower on sunday and she was totally surprised!! She had the whole room crying when she walked in and we saw the look on her face.

I just know that mine has been booked and that its on a Sunday...only because I work on Saturdays...I wanted to know if I should ask them to take off....and thats it....I don't want to know anymore about it

I knew about it because no one does surprises in my family. Mine is scheduled for April - although I know the invite list, I don't know what they have planned!

I definitely want to be surprised and I know my mom and BMs are doing everything in their power to make it a true surprise. However, this is going to sound silly but, I never go out to non-chain restaurants. I'm always at places like The Olive Garden or Friday's or Houlihan's etc etc. I'm pretty sure my mom doesn't have plans to have it at one of those places. So if all of a sudden, one weekend afternoon, someone insists I be taken to lunch at Such and Such No Name Place, I think I'm going to know.

But! At least I'll be surprised (hopefully) up until that point!
