how do you know what kind of bra to wear?

How do you buy a bra without having the dress? How do you know that its low enough in the back, etc?

Edited to clarify some more:
The dress is in, but I am not getting the alterations at the store. I have an app't for a fitting on March 23 and need all my stuff, but I don't know how to choose the correct bra.

hmm. ask the dress place if they have samples and then get your own after you try with the dress?

Maybe buy more than one style, and then return the ones that dont work. I dont know if you can even return bras, but it was just a thought.

i am getting cups sewn in....i have like NO boobs so the cups in the gown is fine for me

the bridal store had bra corset things to try on with the dress.

Thats what I did. Word of advice. Make sure it fits more snug around the chest area if you do that so the shape looks better. In some of my pictures, I looked flatchested b/c I wasnt standing up straight and my dress was flimsy material.

This is how I feel about jewelry!
I was just going to have cups sewn in b/c they said I am fairly small but when I tried my dress on I needed something more to fill the dress out. I bought a bra and I think we stuffed a pad of some sort in on one side too!
The place where I bought my dress had bras I could try on and order through them.

I bought my bra based on what I remembered from trying my gown on...I think your best bet is to buy 2-3 different types of bras (low back, low front, cleavage front) & see which fits & then return whichever you don't use!!!
