Re: Please share questions to ask jeweler

My e-ring was custom made so I should have some good insight for you.

First find out how long it is going to take, They told me 8 weeks. My ring took 14.

Find out payment plans, you need to put some down for them to start work, In some cases they only want cash, no AMEX or Credit Card. It depends on your jeweler.

Find out the process. I didn't think making an e-ring would take so long but it does. First they do a sketch. You need to go back and approve or make any necessary changes.

After that it goes to a mold. They make a mold from the sketch. You approve that/make changes.

From there they pour the mold.

Then they need to find the diamonds. My band has alot of pave. They took along time getting enough diamonds that matched.

Okay, is this for an e-ring? If so good luck finding a band that sits flush. I can't find one, so I have to have mine custom made again.

At times, I got very discouraged b/c it was taking so long, but my ring is an original, designed by me and I'm the only one who has it. So it is pretty special and I wouldn't trade it for anythign in the world. FM if you have any more questions. Here is my ring.
