Negotiating a discount

Anyone have any tips on negotiating a discount on bridesmaid dresses? I ordered my gown at Bridal Reflections in Massapequa, and am going tomorrow with my girls to pick out their dresses. The salon said they would discount the BM dresses because I got my gown there, but it wasn't a pre-determined amount. What's a good discount? My arguements will be that a few of them are out of town, so they need to make it worthwhile for them to order there - I think that's reasonable. I'm shooting for 10-20% (one of the other salons told me 15-20%) - the dresses are all in the $150-$200 range - so I don't think that's unreasonable. Is it?

Re: Negotiating a discount

10% sounds about right, I got my gown and BM gowns at adrienne's and they are giving my girls 10% off. I wish we could get a discount on our bridal gowns also

I know - we should also get a discount because we're bringing the salon business from our bridesmaids. Luckily, I was able to negotiate the price of my gown because I found it somewhere else cheaper.

Re: Negotiating a discount

I would contact an online retailer like netbride or pearls place and see what they charge for the dress (usually cheaper than stores) and then ask your store to match teh price. I am bringing my gown to phyllis for alterations and she matched a price that Pearls Place gave me on my Jum Hjelm BM dresses.
